Halloween Family Dance
Important Information
Our parent volunteers are looking forward to seeing everyone at the Halloween Dance tonight! 🎃
Please note that, due to fire code regulations, we have a limited capacity. As a result, there will only be a limited number of tickets available for purchase at the door. Once we reach our maximum capacity, we will not be able to admit any additional guests.
Thank you for your understanding and support! We can’t wait to celebrate Halloween with everyone!
Happy Halloween! 🎃

Earth Rangers Assembly
Friday, November 6: Grades 1-6
We are excited to welcome Earth Rangers for a special school-wide assembly on Friday, November 6, at 1:15 p.m.
Important Safety Information: The presentation includes flashing lights and light patterns that may trigger seizures in individuals with photosensitive epilepsy. If your child has a condition that may be affected by these lighting effects, please contact the school at 780-464-3330 before Friday, November 6, so we can plan accordingly.
Remembrance Day Service
Thursday, November 5 at 10:45 a.m.
On Thursday, November 5, our school community will gather to honour and remember the brave men and women who have served and sacrificed for our country. Families are warmly invited to join us in the school gym at 10:40 a.m. as we reflect on the importance of remembrance, gratitude and peace.
Students are welcome to wear their Cadets, Scouts or Guides uniforms, red clothing or Canadian-themed attire if they wish. We look forward to sharing this meaningful occasion with our Wolverine community.
Spirit Day: Decades Day
Wednesday, November 4! 🕺🎶
Get ready to travel back in time! On Wednesday, November 4, we're celebrating Decades Day! Students and staff are invited to dress in styles inspired by their favourite decade—from the groovy '60s and disco '70s to the colourful '80s, cool '90s, and beyond!
Dig into your closets, get creative, and join us for a fun-filled spirit day celebrating fashion through the decades. Participation is optional, and there's no need to purchase anything new!
Terry Fox Mystery Bucket Challenge
Our Terry Fox fundraising celebrations wrapped up with a splash (and quite a mess!) as some brave staff members took on the Mystery Bucket Challenge! Students cheered as buckets filled with water, pasta, flour and even milk were poured over staff members. Be sure to ask your child about the fun!
A heartfelt thank you to our Wolverine families for your generous donations and support of the Terry Fox Foundation. Together, we are making a difference in the fight against cancer!
Art Card Fundraiser
We’re excited to be offering another Art Card Fundraiser this year! Your child will be creating a special piece of artwork that can be turned into a variety of keepsake items like cards, mugs, and more. Ordering information will be shared following Fall Break. Purchased items will be delivered to the school in time for Christmas!
Lost & Found Items
Our Lost & Found is overflowing! Please take a moment to check the tables for any missing belongings. All unclaimed items will be donated after November 5, so be sure to have a look before then!
Inclement Weather Reminders
With the winter season almost here, the school has a few reminders for families:
Ensure students have clothing appropriate for expected weather conditions.
If weather conditions are bad enough to impact student transportation, Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) advises families directly, and posts updates on social media and eips.ca.
Decisions regarding bus cancellations are guided by an EIPS administrative procedure that states, “school bus service may be suspended…when there is a forecast or current temperature of -40 C, including wind chill factor, in one or more regions.” Other reasons for suspending or delaying school bus services include adverse weather and poor road conditions.
When school bus services are suspended, schools remain open to students.
For more information, contact EIPS Student Transportation at 780-417-8151.
Literacy & Numeracy Screener Results
Fall Literacy and Numeracy Screening Results – Grades 1–5
Families of students in Grades 1–5 will receive their child's fall literacy and numeracy screening results next week. These results provide a snapshot of learning and help teachers identify strengths, areas for growth and opportunities for targeted instruction.
Screening results are one part of the overall picture of your child's learning and are considered alongside ongoing classroom assessments and observations. Students identified as requiring additional support will receive targeted, small-group instruction within the classroom.
As Parent-Teacher Interviews are scheduled for December, we are sharing these results before Fall Break to keep families informed. Students in the Connections program did not complete the screeners based on their individualized programming and will not receive a screening report.
If you have questions about your child's results, please contact their classroom teacher.

Rock Your Socks, Mocs and Crocs Day
Wednesday, November 18
On Wednesday, November 18, we're celebrating kindness, inclusion and the differences that make each of us unique! Students are invited to wear their favourite colourful socks, moccasins or Crocs as a fun way to show that while we may look different, we all belong. Together, let's spread kindness and support one another.
