Principals' Bi-Weekly Wrap-Up
A Special Message From Dr. Kenyon
Hi Neidig Families,
As the new Assistant Principal at Neidig, I have enjoyed meeting Neidig's students. I have been able to visit each of our classrooms to tell them a bit about myself and my role. I opened the floor up for ANY questions and you can’t deny it, they are the best! Here were just a few…
“What’s your favorite: color, month, shape, number, activity, show, trip, drink, food, animal, subject,
“Do you like Halloween?” and “Are you going to dress up for Halloween?”
“Do you have any siblings?”
“Do you like oreo ice cream?”
“Did you grow up in this state?”
“How old were you when you moved to Colorado?”
“How many years have you been in education?”
“Do you like labooboos?”
“Did you know there were labooboo knockoffs at Q Mart?”
“Do you prefer raccoons or axolotls?"
“Ranch or blue cheese?”
“How old are you?”
“Are you from a different country?”
“Did you know that my great great grandfather was on the Titanic and survived?”
“Do you know my sister?”
“Why do we have a nurse?”
“Why doesn’t the bus have seat belts?”
“Why are there cameras in school?”
“How many dogs did you have growing up?”
“What are you good at?”
“What’s your favorite sport to watch?”
“How many years were you in college?”
“What’s it like being an AP?”
“How long do bunnies live?”
“Have you had any other jobs?”
Words can’t express my gratitude to be able to work with this staff and amazing group of learners. Thank you for your trust in our team and your partnerships.
Respectfully,
Dr. Kenyon

A Message from our Instrumental Music Teachers
Last Spring, at the end of the school year, we held our “Meet the Instrument” night to help students decide if they wanted to join band or orchestra. If students did not sign up back in May and June, it’s not too late! There is still time for families to sign-up their elementary students for band (grades 4 and 5) and orchestra (grades 3, 4, and 5). Registration for elementary band and orchestra is open until Friday September 26, 2025.
Visit qcsd.org/music for more information about elementary instrumental music lessons. Click on the big yellow banner at the top of the page to register your student, or speak with your school’s music teachers.
Thank you!

School Counselor News
We know that success in school is about more than just academics. It’s also about building confidence, managing feelings, and getting along with others. During our Caring School Community morning time, we use the Second Step ® program. This research-based program will help your child learn important skills for school and life. Our lessons will cover how to manage emotions, practice empathy, and become great at problem-solving. Please see the attached letter for more information.

Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and Parent Request for Assistance
This is a reminder to parents about our MTSS framework. QCSD implemented this framework of academic, social-emotional, and behavioral supports to improve student achievement. Please use the links below to learn more about our MTSS process. Additionally, if you are looking for additional assistance for your child, please click the second link below and complete a Request for Assistance (RFA) for your child.

Updating your Student's Transportation
If you need to update your bus transportation to or from a Day Care Location, complete this form.
- If you want your student assigned as a Car Rider for afternoon dismissal permanently during the ‘25-’26 school year, you must complete this form. This form is only for afternoon dismissal at Neidig, and must be completed each school year. You may drop your student off in the morning without notifying us. Completing this form does not remove bus access for your student.
If you do not plan to use the bus at all (morning or afternoon for the entirety of the school year) and wish to opt out of all bus transportation entirely, please contact brenninger@qcsd.org. You must still complete the Car Rider Form above.
Kindergarten Parents: An adult is required to meet all Kindergarten students at the bus stop. If an adult other than Parent/Guardian will be receiving your student, or if they will be allowed to exit the bus with siblings, you must complete this form and submit it to brenninger@qcsd.org.
