MMS Update

Greetings MMS Families,

Our school was buzzing with excitement this past week as we welcomed our students back to school! We had a wonderful time seeing all the smiling faces as students met their teachers, reconnected with friends, and began their new classes. Speaking of meeting teachers, please join us this week for Back to School Night. Seventh grade night is September 9th, and eighth grade night is September 10th. September 10th will also include the eighth grade Culminating Experience meeting as part of Back to School Night. As a reminder, there will be no school for students on September 7th and 8th as we observe Labor Day and hold professional development workshops for our teachers.

So glad to be back, have a great week!

First Day of School - Circle your calendars for the first day of school on September 2nd! 7th graders will begin at 7:25 and 8th graders will begin at 9:25.

No School - There will be no school for students on September 7th and 8th in observance of Labor Day and for teacher workshops.

Drama Club Auditions - Auditions for our fall play take place on September 10th and 11th. See below for more details.

Back-to-School Night - We look forward to welcoming families to our back-to-school nights on September 9th for 7th grade, and September 10th for 8th grade. Each night begins at 6:00.

8th Grade Culminating Activity Meeting - There will be an informational meeting for 8th grade families during our Back-to-School Night on September 10th. There will be important information for both our New England and Washington, DC trips in the spring.

We can't wait to see you all at our Back to school night! This is a chance to meet your student's teachers and see their classrooms. Formal parent/teacher conferences are held on 10/9 and 10/13, sign-up information will be forthcoming.

Some of our PE students are a little more camera shy than others....

To support healthy habits and help our students get the rest they need, our school district will be activating Chromebook Curfews beginning September 14th. As part of this initiative, student Chromebooks will automatically lock on school nights from 10:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. each day. This is designed to encourage a healthy balance between schoolwork, technology, and getting a good night’s sleep. We appreciate your partnership and support as we work together to help our students develop healthy habits and be ready to learn each day. Thank you for your continued support!

Auditions for our top tier Drama Club will be held on September 10th and 11th, and you definitely do not want to miss your chance to be part of this amazing group! Our Drama Club puts on outstanding performances and exciting productions all year long, and we are looking for students who are ready to have fun, get creative, and shine on stage!
