Welcome to April! Where the sunshine, flowers, and rain showers are welcomed. As we get closer to the end, it is important to show up each day and bring our best. ✨Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST)✨
Congratulations goes to our own Becky Schueth who has been named a State Finalist for this award!
This is the highest honors bestowed by the United States government specifically for K-12 science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and/or computer science teaching. Awards are given to science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and/or computer science teachers who have both deep content knowledge of the subjects they teach and the ability to motivate and enable students to be successful in those areas.
Mrs. Schueth is currently teaching high school mathematics here at SRC. This is her 11th year at S-RC and I teach Geometry, Technical Math, College Algebra, PreCalculus and Calculus. Becky has 20 years of experience in teaching and she began her career at Columbus High School. Mrs. Schueth Bachelor’s (2005) and Master’s (2009) degrees are from Wayne State College. She enjoys sharing her excitement for math with her students each day!
When you see her, please make sure you congratulate her on this incredible achievement! We are all proud and rooting for you!

Our contributions went toward a young boy, age 7, who is battling leukemia. He had to postpone starting Kindergarten for a year due to his treatments, but when he was able to attend, he was fascinated to learn about the solar system. He took a trip with his family and met astronauts, learned about space travel and got to experience the beach and enjoy the ocean!
Shoutout to all of our community members who contributed to this amazing cause
Thank you for helping to make a young child's dreams come true!!!

Message for the Week:
Message from Mr. Tejkl
The importance of celebrating...
Good morning!
Welcome to April (almost)! As we hit the last full month of the school year, it is important to make sure that we are finishing strong. It is easy to coast and simple to say "that is good enough" but we can not fall for its trap. Each day is an opportunity to be our best and become a little bit better. Step up and embrace that opportunity and challenge.
As we bring our best, it is important to celebrate throughout our day and lives. We get so caught up in the past or future that we look past what we are doing in the moment. Absolutely! Here's a paragraph you could use in a newsletter: In the hustle of daily life, it's easy to overlook the small moments that bring joy. However, celebrating these 'little things' is crucial for our well-being. Acknowledging a morning cup of coffee, a workout, a kind word from a colleague/peer, or a beautiful sunset can trigger the release of dopamine, boosting our mood and motivation. This practice combats our natural negativity bias, shifting our focus towards optimism and gratitude. By recognizing these small wins, we build momentum, create productivity, and strengthen our relationships. More importantly, it cultivates mindfulness and resilience, contributing to better mental and emotional health.
In the end, let's make it a point to celebrate the simple joys each day, creating a more positive and fulfilling experience for ourselves and those around us."
Have a great rest of your Sunday!
Quote of the week to reflect on:
"It is important to celebrate our victories, but we cannot linger on them. For the Infiite Game is still going and there is still much work to be done."
Simon Sinek
Sincerely,
Tucker Tejkl
