Take Flight 🦅

On Saturday, April 11th, 60+ members of Spanish Club and the Girls JV2 Soccer Team went to Soldier Field to see the Chicago Fire - Atlanta United soccer game. The Fire won 1-0, and a good time was had by all. If you're interested in joining Spanish Club, contact Mr. Rich Drobny (rdrobny@leyden212.org).

Tuesday, April 14th, and Wednesday, April 15th, were ACT testing days at Leyden. To celebrate the completion of standardized testing, Parents Club, led by Ms. Angie Salkeld, generously treated students to a variety of snacks and beverages, including some fiery Takis. Special thanks to some senior National Honor Society members (Rogelio Herrera Reyes, Leslie Lopez, Lizbeth Mejia, Lizeth Montiel Romero, Molly Turacek, and Alexa Vargas), who helped with the distribution.

On Friday, April 24th, Student Council will be hosting its spring blood drive in the Eagle's Wing. The health benefits and community needs make this a great service project. Students can register using the QR code above or this link. Upperclassmen should consider donating. Students must be 16 or older and weigh at least 110 lbs. Anyone 18 or older may donate as a "walk-in". Staff members do NOT need an appointment and will be moved immediately to the front of the line. Thank you in advance for your donation - it may just save a life!

SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) is hosting its annual We Care Week from April 27th - May 1st. Be sure to visit the tables outside of the Student Activities Office to participate! Contact Ms. Karin Dewey (kdewey@leyden212.org) or Ms. Mary Uremovic (muremovic@leyden212.org) for more information about the SADD Club.
