From the Principal From the Principal

Dear Page Families,

As we come to the close of another school year, I want to take a moment to thank you for welcoming me into the Page community during my first year as principal. It has truly been an incredible year filled with growth, learning, laughter, and connection.

I have been so impressed by our students this year. They have worked hard academically, grown socially and emotionally, and shown resilience through challenges. It has been exciting to watch students build confidence, strengthen friendships, and make meaningful progress throughout the year. Our staff has worked tirelessly to support every child, and I am so proud of what we have accomplished together.

One of the things that makes Page so special is our amazing community. I have seen families support one another, volunteers give their time, staff go above and beyond, and students show kindness and care for others. Our roots truly run deep, and we are better together.

As summer begins, I hope your family has time to rest, recharge, and make wonderful memories together. Whether it is spending time outside, visiting family, going on adventures, or simply slowing down and enjoying the sunshine, I hope the summer brings joy to your family.

While summer is a time for fun and relaxation, it is also important to keep learning going. One of the best things families can do over the summer is read together. Reading books, magazines, recipes, signs, or even listening to audiobooks all help students continue building important literacy skills. Playing games together is another wonderful way to support learning. Board games, card games, puzzles, and outdoor games all help build problem-solving, communication, math, and social skills while creating meaningful family time.

As always, please remember to help students stay safe this summer by wearing helmets, using sunscreen, staying hydrated, and practicing safe choices both online and in the community.

Please also watch for my Back-to-School letter coming in mid-August with important information and updates for the 2026–27 school year.

Thank you again for an amazing school year. It has been an honor to serve as your principal, and I already look forward to all that next year will bring for our Page Panthers.

Have a safe, restful, and fun-filled summer!

Warmly,
Teresa Collins
Principal

End-of-Year Device Return Information

Springfield Public Schools is updating its elementary student device procedures for the 2026-27 school year following continued feedback from families and staff.

Under the new process, elementary students will continue using district-issued devices during the school day. However, devices will no longer routinely go home with students unless specifically checked out for educational purposes. This shift is not about reducing access to technology. Instead, it reflects a broader effort to support healthy student development while ensuring technology remains a purposeful tool for learning rather than a constant presence outside school hours.

This summer, all elementary student devices and chargers will be collected so our Technology Services team can inspect, clean, repair, and prepare them for deployment in the fall. Families can support the transition by ensuring all chargers are returned and encouraging students to remove personal stickers or labels from devices before turning them in.

Student devices will not be sent home after Monday, June 1. Please ensure your student returns both their device and charger no later than June 5.

Springfield Public Schools remains committed to providing students with access to technology that supports learning, collaboration, creativity, and digital literacy. The District will continue maintaining a one-to-one student device ratio at all schools.

Additional details about elementary device procedures and expectations for the 2026-27 school year will be shared with families before the start of school.

Lost and Found

Our Lost and Found is overflowing! Families are encouraged to stop by before or after school hours while campus is still open to check for any missing items.

All unclaimed belongings will be donated after the last day of school, so please make time to collect anything your student may have misplaced.

Register and Review for the 2026–27 school year is now open. We are asking all families to please take time to complete the process as soon as possible.

Having students registered before summer is extremely important as we begin planning for next school year. Registration support is also very limited over the summer when many office and bilingual staff members are out of the office.

Have questions or can’t remember your ParentVUE password? Contact Leesa in the front office for help at 541.744.6407.

Completing the review allows families to update important information including contact information, health information, custody information, emergency contacts, and more.

Please log in to ParentVUE or visit our enrollment page by clicking the big blue button to complete your Register and Review as soon as possible.

Mystery Writing Goes to the Goats

We had visitors from the SPS All-Natural Mowing Crew make a special appearance to support academics at Page!

Our goat herd was very curious and interested in hearing Mystery Writing stories about an imaginary goat escape written and performed by our 2nd graders.

What a fun and memorable way to practice writing skills!

Jog a thon

Our Jog-a-Thon was such a fun and exciting event for our students! A huge thank you to our incredible PTO for all of the hard work that went into organizing such a special day. One of the highlights was seeing every student wearing a donated Jog-a-Thon t-shirt. What an amazing gift for our students and school community!

Thank you to everyone who donated and supported this fundraiser. These funds help our PTO provide memorable experiences for students throughout the year including events like the Harvest Carnival, Field Day, field trips, and so much more. We are so grateful for the support of our Page community!

Also, if your student has a medication currently checked into the health room, please make sure you have it picked up by the end of the school day on June 11th. We cannot hold on to medication over the summer, even if your student plans on returning next year. Contact the health aide if you have any questions.

School Reminders School Reminders

The Impact of Early Pick-Ups on Classroom Learning

At our school, every minute of instruction counts. When students are picked up before the school day ends, it may seem like a small interruption-but those missed minutes truly add up. Teachers carefully plan learning activities right up until dismissal, and stepping out early can cause students to miss important instruction, collaboration, and closure of their learning for the day.

Additionally, early departures can disrupt the entire classroom. When a student gathers belongings and leaves during a lesson, it can break the focus of both the child and their peers. Over time, frequent early pick-ups can leave students with learning gaps and make it harder for them to stay on track academically.

We understand that life happens, appointments, and family needs are sometimes unavoidable. When such occasions arise, we ask families to communicate with the school in advance whenever possible. By planning early dismissals carefully and limiting them to necessary situations, we can work together to support consistent learning and help all students stay fully engaged through the final bell.

Thank you for your partnership in ensuring that every student receives the full benefit of their school day!

Birthday Celebrations at School

At Page, we love celebrating our students! While we recognize birthdays in special ways, we do not celebrate with food at school. We kindly ask that families do not send desserts or other treats to share with the class.

This helps us keep all students safe, especially those with food allergies, and ensures fairness and consistency for everyone. Thank you for helping us create a safe, inclusive environment and for keeping our school day focused on learning.

Lost and Found

Please make sure all of your child's clothing and personal items are clearly labeled with their name. This helps us return lost items quickly and keeps belonging organized. Thank you for helping us keep track of everyone's belongings!

Bell Schedule

8:00-8:25 Breakfast in the cafeteria

8:25 Classroom doors open

8:35 Tardy bell rings

2:50 School end for the day

12:30 Early release days

Dress for Success

Students should wear shoes and clothes that are comfortable running and playing in. Students need appropriate shoes for recess and PE, so please save flip flops and high heels for home. Clothing should be free from any images of drugs, alcohol, or weapons. We have recess outside rain or shine, so please make sure your student is dressed for the weather.

Electronic Devices Reminder

We are seeing a few students wearing smart watches to school. As a reminder, beginning in September 2025, Springfield Public Schools requires that all student electronic devices be off and away from the bell to bell. This includes cell phones, smartwatches, headphones or earbuds, tablets, and any other internet-connected devices. Thank you for helping us maintain a focused learning environment for students.

PTO

We have an amazing and active PTO! We would love to have you join and make Page School even more amazing! Joining the PTO is a great way to connect with other families and provide input on school events.

Communication

It is very important that we have a correct email address for parents/guardians. You will be able to access communication platforms and we can send you important information and updates as we continue through the school year. You can update your email through your parentVUE account.

Our teachers use Seesaw as their primary communication platform. Please look for a link from your student's teacher to sign up for their class communication. If you have any trouble signing up for Seesaw please reach out. It is critical that you receive the communication shared via this app throughout the school year.
