OMS Bulldog Bulletin

We are looking forward to all that March has in store for our school! Our Read-a-Thon was a tremendous success! We are so proud of our bulldogs' dedication and enthusiasm for reading. Tomorrow, we will announce our reading minutes and if we met our goal! Some students and staff members will silly string me if we met our goal!

Our school dance was also amazing, and it was wonderful to see our students having so much fun together. A heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers and teachers who helped make the dance possible, we truly appreciate your support. We are looking forward to celebrating Read Across America and Wall Township’s Birthday next week. It’s sure to be another week full of learning and celebration!

The i-Ready score reports will be available in Genesis on March 2 at 3:00 PM. Please take a few moments to review your child’s progress and reach out to your child’s teacher with any questions.

Please be advised that you must call or email the school if your child is absent. Without proper notification, your child may be marked truant. Prompt communication helps us keep accurate attendance records and support your child’s success. Thank you so much!

Members of the Old Mill 5th Grade Band travelled to the NJMEA (New Jersey Music Educators Conference in Atlantic City. Our Old Mill musicians served as the demonstration ensemble. We are so proud of them!

Old Mill Home & School Association (OMH&S) is Old Mill's PTA. OMH&S raises funds for all class trips and assemblies, recess equipment, supplies and events throughout the year. Our ability to operate is entirely dependent on the volunteer efforts of Old Mill School families and educators. Join us today!

As you are aware, Dr. Handerhan announced back in the fall that she will be retiring at the end of this school year. Since then, the Wall Township Board of Education has been actively engaged in the search for a new Superintendent of Schools. At last night’s Board of Education Meeting, the Board of Education appointed Dr. David Bleakley as the next WTPS Superintendent of Schools, effective July 1, 2026. Dr. Bleakley brings with him over 20 years of educational experience, and the Board of Education is thrilled to welcome him to the District.

It's time to start planning for the 2026-2027 school year! Please take note of the upcoming registration dates for our youngest students:

• Kindergarten Registration: Monday, February 2, 2026
• Preschool Registration: Tuesday, February 17, 2026

Children are registered in their neighborhood schools in the order that completed registrations are received. Please be advised in the event that grade-level capacity is reached, incoming students may be assigned to another WTPS elementary school.
