Welcome Pirates!
We are excited to kick off the 25/26 school year with you and your child! We want it to be your best year ever! We look forward to seeing our returning 6th graders and welcoming our incoming 5th graders.
The Mill Creek office open from 8 am to 4 pm to answer any questions that you may have.
Please plan to join us on August 14th for our Back to School night from 5-7 pm. This is the only available time to visit teachers and classrooms before school starts on August 18th.
Our focus this year is every minute matters. We will use every minute with your child to help them grow academically, build strength of character, pursue emotional wellness and show school pride. I'm thrilled to be starting my second year at Mill Creek and my first year as head principal.
Chad Rourk is the new Assistant Principal at Mill Creek. He is new to Belton and we are excited for him to be a part of our team.
I am thrilled to continue to be a part of Mill Creek and start my role as the principal. This is the start of my 18th year in education and my 7th as a Pirate!

From the office of Mill Creek
Here is a link to the K-6 Elementary Handbook. Please read through it to help you better understand how we operate and get many questions answered. A couple things I wanted to share with you:
Birthday treats can not be brought to school due to the various food allergies our students have.
Water bottles must be able to be closed, no cups/water bottles with straws. There have been too many spills involving iPads and school resources.
We discourage students from bringing purses/sling bags to school. If they are brought the students will be asked to keep them in the room during the day.
Here is our District’s Cell Phone policy. Summarizing, phones/watches are off and in backpacks all day.
Parents are welcome to volunteer in classrooms and/or come to eat with their child. Procedures for both are outlined in the handbook.
Any change to a student’s transportation MUST be done in writing. Please email the office NO LATER THAN 2:45 to ensure we can communicate with the student and teacher. The office email is mcoffice@bsd124.org.
If you know your student will be absent, please call or email the office by 9:00 am. If your student is absent from school due to an appointment, please turn a note into the office so we may excuse the absence

Band
From your friendly neighborhood Band Director, Mr. K:
- Band is open TO ALL MILL CREEK STUDENTS, whether or not you've ever signed up before. 6th grade starters need to do some extra work to get caught up.
- Come to Back-To-School night and stop by the band table to chat with Mr. K!
- Mr. K will be giving short talks in the band room at 5:15. 5:45, 6:15, and 6:45 to talk instruments and answer questions.
- Remember, your schedule will automatically say, "Music" with Ms. Gamble. You can still be in band, and we will change it after two weeks.
