School Attendance
If your child will be absent from school, the state of Ohio requires parents or guardians to inform the school the reason for the absence. You may call the school at (614) 450-5200 or use our dedicated attendance email: libattend@wscloud.org to let the school know the reason for the absence. If your child goes to a doctor or dentist appointment, kindly ask for a doctor’s note. You can find more attendance information on pages 11-13 of the Elementary Student Handbook.
Picture Day - Friday, August 28th
You should have received an email from our school photographer, HR Imaging, that contained a secure, individual link, for your student to place an order. Pictures can also be purchased online at SHOP.HRIMAGING.COM. Picture retake day or makeup day is Thursday, October 8th.

WKHS Color Guard - 4th - 8th grade - Register by Sunday, August 30th
Interested in the Color Guard? We have a newer initiative that started last year called Color Guard Club. This is a great opportunity for students in grades 4 - 8 to get some color guard and dance experience/exposure, and to perform with the marching band at a few football games.
Bicycles, E-Bicycles, and E-Scooters at School
All children are encouraged to walk to school if residing in the non-transport boundary. The use of bicycles, e-bicycles, and scooters for travel to and from school by students is an assumption of responsibility on the part of those students and their parent/guardian -- a responsibility in the care of property, in the observation of safety rules, and in the display of courtesy and consideration toward others. The school district will not be responsible for bicycles, e-bicycles, or scooters which are lost, stolen, or damaged. Students outside of non-transport areas should not ride their bike to or from school unless accompanied by their parent or guardian. For those students who plan to ride bicycles, e-bicycles, or scooters to school, the following guidelines should be followed:
- All students within non-transport boundaries are permitted to ride bicycles to school with parental/guardian consent. The parent/guardian and child need to decide when a child is ready to ride a bicycle to school.
- All bicycles, e-bicycles, and e-scooters are to be parked in bicycle racks.
- Students motorized bicycles or scooters should dismount their bicycle or scooter once on school grounds and walk the e-bike or scooter to the rack.
- Riders are to obey all safety and traffic laws, e.g. stop signs.
- All bicycles, e-bikes, and scooters should be locked while parked in the bicycle rack.
- Bicycle riders should wear helmets.
- Students riding bicycles or other forms of transportation should stay clear of vehicular traffic areas, including bus and parent/guardian drop-off and pick up areas.
Safe bicycle practices are expected at all times. If students are unable to maintain a safe environment transporting to school, they may be asked to leave their bicycle, e-bike, or scooter at home.
