Our Lady of Mercy
NEWSLETTER | TERM 4 | WEEK 1 | 15 November 2026
Our school community came together to celebrate Mercy Day, honouring the values of compassion, service and kindness that are at the heart of our Mercy tradition.
The celebrations began with a beautiful Mass led by our Year 1 students alongside Father Julian. It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the Mercy values that guide us each day and to give thanks for our many blessings.
Students also enjoyed a range of stalls raising money to support those in need, putting our faith into action and demonstrating generosity towards others. Throughout the celebrations, there were fun games and activities that helped students learn more about the founders and stories behind our school factions.
Thank you to all the staff, students and families who contributed to making Mercy Day such a meaningful and enjoyable occasion. It was wonderful to see our community living out the Mercy spirit through prayer, learning, fun and service to others.
Prayer for Term 4
Blessed are you, Lord God,
Creator of body, mind, and heart;
you walk with us through every season of the year.
As we begin Term 4, we ask for your grace and blessing upon our students,
teachers, and school community.
Grant our students a renewed spirit of curiosity, focus, and perseverance
to finish well what they have started.
Grant our teachers and staff patience, energy, and wisdom
to guide, inspire, and support every learner.
Grant our families grace and unity as we balance the busy final weeks of the year.
When we feel tired, remind us of your constant presence.
Fill us with kindness, patience, and respect for one another
as we work together in hope and love.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Principal's Message
Welcome back to our final term for 2026. I hope all families enjoyed a restful break and that our students had the opportunity to relax, recharge and return refreshed and ready for a busy and exciting Term Four.
We began the term beautifully with Mass this morning, celebrated by Father Sam and led by our Year Three students. The readings reminded us that God is Love, a message that is both simple and powerful. My hope for this term is that we continue to demonstrate love, kindness, patience and compassion in our everyday interactions, supporting one another and living out our school values in all that we do.
Our much-anticipated Colour Run was certainly a highlight to start the term! The school grounds were filled with colour, laughter and smiling faces as students made their way through the obstacle courses and enjoyed the festivities. A sincere thank you to our hardworking P&F for organising such a wonderful event, and to our staff who generously gave their time and energy to ensure its success. Events like these help strengthen the sense of community that makes our school such a special place.
Families are asked to keep an eye out for correspondence regarding school fees. In line with Catholic Education Western Australia (CEWA) expectations and recommendations, there will be an increase in fees for 2027. Further information will be provided shortly.
Please keep our Year Six students in your prayers as they head off to camp on Monday. We will be spending Monday and Tuesday night at Ern Halliday Recreation Camp, where students will have many opportunities to build on their leadership skills, work collaboratively as a team and challenge themselves through a range of exciting activities. I would like to thank our Year Six teachers for the wonderful program they have organised. We look forward to sharing stories and highlights from our adventures when we return.
I would also like to remind families of the importance of students arriving at school prior to the 8:30am bell. Students are far more settled and prepared for learning when they begin the day alongside their classmates and are able to participate in the morning routines.
As we embark on our final term together, I look forward to celebrating the many achievements, learning opportunities and special events that lie ahead.
Have a lovely weekend
Kind regards
Rika
