MCAS Science Reminders
June 2, 2021
This is a reminder that the paper-based Science MCAS test for grade 9 is scheduled for Tuesday, June 8th, and Wednesday, June 9th. Please take a moment to review these test day reminders.
Testing Dates
Science: Tuesday, June 8th, and Wednesday, June 9th
*Students who are absent may have an opportunity to participate in make-up testing. Please contact your guidance counselor for details.*
Testing Locations
Students will be testing in person at Watertown High School. Room locations will be shared with students and are posted outside the Guidance office and in the Science wing.
Calculators
Students taking the Physics exam are able to use a calculator during both sessions. While we will have calculators available, students are encouraged to bring their own handheld calculators on test day.
Schedule
Testing will take place during the first three blocks of the day. Students who need more time after this will be allowed to continue testing. Students who have completed the test will be directed to return to classes and follow the schedule for the day. Remote students should return home and resume online classes.
Eligibility for Public University Tuition Credit
In addition to being a graduation requirement, the MCAS provides students an opportunity to qualify for one of two tuition credits (John & Abigail Adams Scholarship or Stanley Z. Koplik Certificate of Mastery) at public universities in Massachusetts. Details about qualifying scores and additional requirements can be found at the links provided above.
We encourage students to get a good night of sleep, make sure to get breakfast at home or at school and be ready to start testing at 8:30 each day.
See you soon!
