Power Notes
End of 2nd Quarter
Moment of Reflection
Hello Families,
The CRMS family has been working through a tragic loss with the unexpected death of our beloved SRO, Corporal Lucas Nagel. Cpl. Nagel was an alumnus of both Colonel Middle and Colonel High School, so this has hit many of us deeply.
We also know that deaths can be hard to manage for students as well. Although our students may not have had as many interactions with Cpl. Nagel as our high school friends, these kinds of events can still trigger students' emotions about their own lost friends or family members. Please do not hesitate to reach out for any resources to support your student or your family.
As we move through the end of the 2nd quarter, we want to continue to focus on student instruction. Next week students will take the Middle of the Year (MOY) iReady assessments in Math and ELA. This is a very important check point for our students because it gives us insight into what extra support and learning students still need as we continue to work to close learning gaps.
We are a community. Our students are important to us. Let's continue to work together to make sure that everybody is Good!
Take Care. Be Well.
#BeAPowerPlayer
We will miss you Officer Nagel
iReady Incentive

MLK Day of Service--Community Service Opportunity and School-wide Collection for His Hope Ministries
Coats in the School
Hoodies, zip up sweat jacket, and windbreakers are fine.
Inclement Weather Day Plan for Students
The Maryland Department of Education is allowing districts to use three (3) asynchronous
inclement weather days as virtual learning days. This limits the number of days that would
normally have to be added on to the end of the school year.
Secondary: Students will be able to access their assignments offline without the need for
Internet/Wi-Fi access using their school-issued device. Assignments will be brief and a review of
material already covered in the classroom. Work will be due shortly after school is back in
session and will count as attendance for the virtual day.
Please contact Mrs. Jane Towers at 410-479-1462 or email her at towers.jane@ccpsstaff for your attendance and registration concerns.
