Board Brief

The North Little Rock Board of Education has begun a new chapter with the installation of three newly-elected board members and two reappointed board members.

Per board policy, board members voted among themselves to elect new officers.

Board President: Dr. Rochelle Redus
Board Vice President: Mrs. Valerie McLean
Board Secretary: Mrs. Cindy Temple
Board Disbursing Officer: Mr. Henry Taylor
Board Parliamentarian: Ms. Crystal Barker

The Board finalized the terms of service in accordance with board policy and state requirements for staggered terms:

Zone 1, Ms. Crystal Barker: Term Expires March 2030
Zone 2, Mr. Henry Taylor: Term Expires March 2028
Zone 3, Dr. Rochelle Redus Term Expires March 2030
Zone 4, Mr. Kevin Newsome: Term Expires March 2030
Zone 5, Mrs. Cindy Temple: Term Expires March 2028
Zone 6, Mrs. Valerie McLean: Term Expires March 2028
Zone 7, Mrs. Victoria Scott: Term Expires March 2030

Leaders from Amboy, Boone Park, Glenview, and Meadow Park Elementary Schools, along with the North Little Rock Middle and High School campuses, the 6 Academy, and the Center of Excellence, updated the Board of Education on strategies to boost achievement for students in the bottom 25%.

Mr. Randy Riddle, the Administrative Director of Information Technology, shared the district's plan to update technology equipment purchases ahead of the 2026-2027 school year.

The Board of Education approved the findings of the financial audit, conducted by HCJ CPAs and Advisors. The audit shows no findings, or a clean audit.

Special Board Meeting/Board Workshop

All meetings begin at 5:30 p.m. and are held in the Boardroom in the Administration Building, located at 2400 Willow Street. They are open to the public.

Meetings will also be broadcast on our YouTube Channel: NLRSD Board Meetings.
