A message from Mrs. Holloman, Principal🍎

Welcome Back to a New Year and Second Semester!

We hope you and your family enjoyed a wonderful and restful holiday break. We are so excited to welcome students back tomorrow and can’t wait to see their smiling faces—we’ve truly missed them!

As we begin the second semester, there is so much to look forward to at IVES. We are thrilled to be launching another Drama Club for 1st and 2nd graders soon. We are incredibly grateful for our amazing educators who lead this program and for the many talented students who are participating. It’s always a joy to see our Flyers shine on stage!

Please also mark your calendars for the Boosterthon starting on March 2nd and culminating with our IVES Fun Run on March 11th. We love seeing parents at the Fun Run cheering their student(s) on as they participate in this event! Boosterthon helps us raise funds to support several important initiatives at IVES, including Flyer Theater Club, professional development for our staff and so much more. Additional information will be shared over the coming weeks.

Finally, we are especially excited to launch our 25-26 yearbook. The student designed cover is amazing! It was drawn by one of our very own 5th grade IVES Flyers! Yearbooks are now available to order, so please watch for ordering information coming home soon and linked in the newsletter.

Thank you, as always, for trusting us with your children. We are honored to partner with you and look forward to a fantastic second semester together.

Warmly,
Pam Holloman
Principal

Healthy School Meals for All Students Continues for 2026 🥑🍊🥦🍇

With voter approval in November, Colorado’s Healthy School Meals for All Students program will continue in 2026. School District 49 will participate in the program, offering meals at no cost to students when we return from the winter break.

In the meantime, we are sharing another reminder that the Education Benefits for Families extend well beyond meal service. Please check our Free and Reduced page at D49.org for complete information. 3rd grade students lit up the stage singing a variety of songs from around the world under the direction of Mrs. Gina Green!

Helpful Information for the Year 📓

Cell Phone Policy:

In accordance with district policy, cell phones and other personal communication devices (to include smart watches) should be kept in students' backpacks and turned off during the school day. These devices should not be used during school hours unless specifically authorized by a teacher for educational purposes. This helps reduce distractions and supports a positive classroom environment.

Please review the Power Zone and Inspiration View Elementary's Cell Phone Policy

Dress Code:

We ask that families help ensure students come to school dressed appropriately. Clothing should be school-appropriate, comfortable for learning and play, and in line with the district dress code. This includes items such as shorts and tank tops, which should provide adequate coverage and support a respectful school atmosphere.

Important Traffic Support Needed

Safety is our first concern. Please follow the signage for right turn only out of the parking lot. We have had several near misses recently and need to ensure the safety of all. Thank you for following the posted signage.

Please do not use the dirt lot to the west of the school as this property is not a parking lot and creates safety concerns when exiting onto Vista Del Pico. Please use the street for parking, the kiss and go lane, or the Inspiration View Elementary parking lot. Thank you!

Attendance:

If your student has an appointment, please be sure to send in a physician's note to the front office so that we can properly code the excused absence in the system. Examples might include, doctor, dentist, etc.).

Should your student be absent, parents must report this absence to the front office with a phone call (719-495-5302) or an email (nicole.prewett@d49.org). Nicole is our Attendance Secretary and is the person who can assist with the call. If you do not report your student's absence, it will be marked as unexcused. Unexcused absences are tracked and reported to D49 truancy. If you have any questions about reporting absences or truancy, please reach out to Jessica Cole (719-495-5307).
