Superintendent's Message
As we come to the close of the 2025–2026 school year, I find myself reflecting with a deep sense of gratitude and pride for the time I have had the privilege to serve the Bethel Public Schools community. It has truly been an honor to work alongside such dedicated educators, supportive families, and an engaged community that consistently places students at the center of every decision.
From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with openness and encouragement. What stood out immediately—and continues to define Bethel—is the strong sense of community and the genuine care people have for one another. The relationships built over this time have been meaningful and lasting, and I will always value the trust and support that was extended to me as I joined this district.
Together, we have made significant progress in several important areas. We have taken meaningful steps to improve and maintain our school facilities, ensuring safe and effective learning environments for our students. Our long-range planning efforts have positioned the district for continued growth and sustainability, with a clear focus on meeting the needs of both current and future students.
Academically, I am proud of the work that has taken place across our classrooms. Through a shared commitment to high expectations, strong instructional practices, and targeted support for students, we have continued to move forward in improving student achievement. Just as important, we have celebrated outstanding accomplishments by our students and staff at the state level—recognition that reflects the talent, dedication, and hard work present throughout our district.
None of these accomplishments would have been possible without the unwavering support of our Board of Education and the tireless efforts of our exceptional staff. Their leadership, commitment, and belief in our students have been the driving force behind our progress. For that, I am truly and forever grateful.
I am proud to have been a part of the Bethel Public Schools family, and I will carry these experiences with me moving forward. Thank you to the community and school district for welcoming me, supporting me, and allowing me the opportunity to work alongside you in making Bethel Public Schools an even better place for students.
As I look ahead, I wish nothing but continued success for this district, its students, staff, and the new leadership that will guide Bethel into the future. The foundation is strong, and I have no doubt that the best is yet to come.
Respectfully,
Dr. Matt Posey, Superintendent

Bethel High School Girls Track Team Qualifies for State
The Bethel High School Girls relay team finished the season strong, showcasing not only athletic talent but also strong teamwork, determination, and school pride. Representing Bethel with excellence on and off the track, this group of student-athletes continues to make a positive impact within our school community.
Team members Lakeisha Hagerman, Anna Burkhart, Scarlett Hopper, Claira Arnold, and Tenley Howser have demonstrated exceptional commitment throughout the season. Whether competing in relays or individual events, these athletes consistently push themselves to improve while supporting one another every step of the way.
Beyond their athletic performance, these young women exemplify what it means to be student-athletes. They balance academics, training, and competition while maintaining a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Their leadership and sportsmanship serve as an example for younger students and teammates alike.
As these student athletes compete at the state level, the Bethel community looks forward to continued success from this talented group. We are proud of their accomplishments and excited to see what they achieve next at the state track meet. Go Wildcats!

LMHP Summer Services
As I am ending my third year as Bethel Schools Mental Health Provider I would like to reintroduce my services that I provide for students and families. I provide short-term mental health therapy services free of charge thanks to the federal grant, Project Respect. I work with Pre-K through 12th grade students that attend Bethel Schools.
I have been working at Bethel Schools since August of 2001. I worked as a school counselor for 21 of those years before I started my position as a Licensed Mental Health Provider.
If you have any concerns with your child during the summer months and feel they would benefit from therapy services please feel free to reach out by email.
During the summer months it is a prime opportunity to strengthen your relationship with your child/children. Building a healthier relationship requires intentional, daily efforts to show love, respect, and interest. Strategies include practicing active listening, uninterrupted one-on-one time, being affectionate, and upholding consistent boundaries.

Bethel Lower Elementary
A Message from Mrs. Jones
What a wonderful year we have had at Bethel Lower Elementary! Our students have grown so much academically, socially, and emotionally this year, and we are incredibly proud of each and every one of them. Thank you to our families, staff, and community for all you have done to help make this year such a success. We truly could not do it without your support!
We have several exciting events coming up during our final week of school:
• Monday, May 11 – PTO Snow Cone Day for all students and Kindergarten Carnival at 2:00
• Tuesday, May 12 – 2nd Grade Math Award Party at 2:00
• Wednesday, May 13 – PK Promotion and 2nd Grade Fun in the Sun Afternoon
• Thursday, May 14 – Kindergarten Graduation, Last Day of School, and Report Cards
• Friday, May 15 – Professional Work Day for Staff
As we begin preparing for next school year, we would also like to share a few important updates:
• School hours will be 8:00–3:10
• School doors will open at 7:35
• If your child eats breakfast at school, please make sure they arrive by 7:45
• Class instruction will begin promptly at 8:00
• Dismissal will begin at 3:10, which is earlier than in previous years
• Please plan to pick up students by 3:20
We will also be working closely with the Upper Elementary to improve dismissal procedures for families with students at both campuses. If the youngest sibling is in 1st or 2nd grade, students will dismiss with their older siblings at the Upper Elementary. If the youngest sibling is in PK or Kindergarten, all students will dismiss at the Lower Elementary. We believe this change will help speed up dismissal considerably for families.
Thank you again for a fantastic school year. We hope everyone has a safe and wonderful summer, and we can’t wait to welcome our Little Wildcats back in August!

Opportunity for Citizen Potawatomi Tribal Members
Are you an enrolled member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation who wants to forge a stronger connection to your tribe? Then you’re in luck, because the Department of Education hosts Coming into the Circle each year for our high school Tribal members. This one-day event serves as an entry point to the Citizen Potawatomi tribal culture. Students learn more about Potawatomi language, culture, and history. Each student is given the opportunity to connect with other Potawatomi students and learn what it means to be a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation in the 21st century. Students and their family members are given a tour of the Tribal headquarters in Shawnee, Oklahoma, so they can become more familiar with the area for when they return for the annual Family Reunion Festival. Registration, meals, and transportation are all provided free of charge (signed waiver needed).
Programming is subject to change but can include:
• A tour of the CPN Eagle Aviary
• A tour of the CPN Cultural Heritage Center
• Cultural lessons on drumming and regalia
• Language introductions
• Presentations on the services provided by the Citizen Potawatomi Nation.
