Principal Update 9/30/24

Good Morning Memorial Families,

I hope that everyone enjoyed the beautiful weekend. Fall is upon us, and yet the sun was still warm and made Saturday perfect for outdoor activities. It was a busy weekend in the Bell household, with my son returning home from college for the first time this fall and my daughters enjoying homecoming weekend and their senior day for soccer at BVT.

This week we are full steam ahead with our Fun Run preparations. On Friday your children should have come home with a lanyard that included a QR code to register for our first ever Fun Run. Our goal is to have all students register even if they do not actively fundraise, and we are already well on our way to our fundraising goal. The hope is that this fundraiser will be able to support installing water bottle filling stations on every floor of our building and that we will raise enough money to ensure that our field trips and cultural arts programs are all paid for for the year. Your children learned on Friday that should we reach our $15,000 fundraising goal, they will get to partake in duct taping Ms. Chuk and I to a wall in the school. The excitement over this almost exceeds the excitement over me kissing a cow a few years ago. We appreciate all of your support with this FUNdraiser and hope that you will join us (if CORI checked of course) in cheering on your children in our big event on October 8th.

We will hold our October all school meeting on Friday afternoon, and look forward to celebrating all of our October birthdays as well as our MANY positive office referrals that have come across our desks during this first month of school.

School Hours

Our school hours are 8:45am-3:15pm. Drop off begins at 8:45 and students who arrive after 9:00am are considered tardy. We will begin dismissal right around 3:15pm.

Due to the hectic nature of the late afternoon, we will no longer be allowing parent dismissals from the main office after 2:45pm. If your child has an appointment, please plan to dismiss him/her earlier, or make use of our pick up line at 3:15pm. Thank you for understanding.
