Peek at the Week
Staff Newsletter: Week of May 18, 2026
A note from the principal...
Hey Champions!
Thank you to everyone for their help and flexibility this week with 5th Grade Shadow Days, interviews, celebrations, etc., etc., etc. I'd like to especially thank PE for loaning me students for demo lessons, and to Paul for doing the same on Monday.
On Monday, Angie and I will be in interviews most of the day. This is for a 7th grade ELA and SS teacher. We will also still have to hire to replace Charity's position. I know we have some discipline reflections to follow up on so we will get to them as soon as possible!
Please be sure you've marked your calendars to be here for 8th Grade Celebration on May 18th. The expectation is that everyone attends.
Please click the button below to nominate a fellow colleague or ten for a fun, silly, or serious award. We'll celebrate on our last day with awards, an ice cream social of our own, and National Showcase School party!
Stay strong. Have fun. The end is near! You've got this!
Old Reminders:
I'm still working on budget. I'll send it out when I finalize.
Yours in Education,
Leigh

Kudos, thank yous, and affirmations . . .
- Student Celebration Committee (Jenny, Annita, Isabeau) - Thank you so much for making today happen with the donations, logistics, and sorting through discipline. It was really special to celebrate all those students, and truly amazing to see how many of our students have never had a referral or reflection! So cool!
- Thanks to Amy for her dedication and success for FCCLA. If you didn't know, she worked all day on the SNOW DAY to help her kids go to DC for their national competition. Wow.
- Thank you to Angie Duncan for always remembering the special days for everyone in this building. Your caring heart is amazing.
- Thank you to the kitchen staff and custodial staff for the CONSTANT EXTRAS they're doing with cooking (shadow days, 5th grade BBQ), set up, tear down, etc. We truly couldn't do it without you!
- Thank you to Aaron Edinger for his brain power on the schedule. I believe we're ready for the big reveal, taking into account your preferences, next week!
- Kudos to Paul Beyer for an INCREDIBLE band concert! All I can say is WOW! I have NEVER enjoyed a band concert like that one.
- Thank you to Lauren Frieders and Saneta Gavette for training our WEB leaders for 26-27 and having them help lead tours for the 5th Grade Parent Orientation. They did a great job and we really appreciate it.
