Grade Level Updates
Class of 2026 Update
Hi Class of 2026,
After this week, you have 25 school days left in your BHS career. Hard to believe your four years have passed so quickly! For those of you heading on to college next fall, please take a moment to go to this link and tell me where to send your final transcript. https://forms.gle/MjvcD4Ngifvcnozv9 Again, you don't want to be the one frantically trying to reach me in August when your college is threatening to drop your classes because they don't have your final transcript. That's a lot of stress that you can avoid by taking one minute to fill out the link now.
Please also make sure you keep taking care of business during these last 25 days. Keep your grades up, keep showing up, and if you need to make up time for excessive absences, make that happen.
We are close to the finish line, let's keep running until we get there!
Thanks,
Mr. Miner
Class of 2027 Update
Class of 2027,
You are almost through all of your required standardized testing!! If you want to take the SAT again, you can register for a weekend test here. If you want to try an ACT, you can register here! Remember that colleges/universities in the State of Michigan will remain "test-optional" and will not require standardized tests to be submitted during application season. With that said, a solid SAT/ACT score can help with admissions as well as merit-based scholarships!
Mr. Evans and I will be hosting a Class of 2027 "Going to be Senior" Parent Meeting later this spring. We will share the exact date/time/location soon! We will be talking about Senior year and all of the special things that will be coming up for you (your student), and also what you can do over the summer to get ready for not only Senior year but also what comes after. We'll be getting specific about how to choose and apply to colleges, send transcripts, etc. We'll also touch on the FAFSA, graduation, and anything else you have questions about. Especially if this is your oldest child and the first to graduate, we would highly recommend attending this meeting. We'll share that date with you as soon as we have finalized it.
Keep working hard while giving yourself grace:).
Mrs. Caverly
Class of 2028 Update
Hi everyone,
As we head into the final quarter of the school year, this is your reminder to lock in. These last weeks matter more than you might think—they can raise your grades, strengthen your habits, and set the tone for next year.
Sophomore year is a turning point. The effort you put in now builds momentum for junior year, which comes with bigger expectations and opportunities. Whether it’s bringing up a grade, staying consistent, or pushing yourself a little harder, now is the time to focus.
A few quick reminders:
- Stay on top of assignments and deadlines
- Ask for help when you need it
- Minimize distractions and use your time wisely
- Finish what you started—strong
You’ve made it this far—don’t coast through the finish line. Be intentional, stay disciplined, and take pride in your work.
Let’s finish strong.
Best,
Mrs. Petit
Class of 2029
Hi Class of 2029-
Can you believe we are in the last quarter of freshman year??? With 3rd quarter now behind us, take a look at where you are. If you fell short this quarter you still have time to improve. Remember, Q3 & Q4 are averaged to give you your Semester 2 grade. Now is the time to seek out help if you need it. Take some time to reflect on what is working and where you can improve. If you need help with classes, after school tutoring with NHS students is a great resource and available Tuesdays-Thursday after school. Continue to communicate with your teachers and use advisory to get some extra help in areas you need it.
With the end of the year (and summer) in sight, take this time to really focus on finishing strong!

Finishing Strong: Supporting Mental Health in the Final Quarter
As we step into the final quarter of the school year, there’s a noticeable shift in energy. The days are longer, the weather is warmer, spring sports are underway, and the excitement of summer is just around the corner. For many students, especially seniors, this time brings a mix of motivation, anticipation, and sometimes stress.
While it’s easy to feel like the finish line is in sight, the last stretch of the school year can be just as important and challenging as the beginning.
For students, this is a time to stay focused while also taking care of your mental health. Balancing academics, activities, jobs, and social life can feel overwhelming. A few simple strategies can help:
- Break things into smaller steps rather than focusing on everything at once
- Keep a consistent routine, even as schedules get busier
- Get enough sleep—it’s one of the most powerful tools for managing stress
- Take short mental breaks to recharge and reset
It’s also important to remember that motivation may come and go, and that’s normal. Progress doesn’t require perfection. Small, steady effort still counts.
For seniors, this season can bring a wide range of emotions - excitement about what’s next, stress about decisions, and even some uncertainty about leaving behind familiar routines and relationships. All of those feelings are valid. Take time to reflect on how far you’ve come, celebrate your accomplishments, and don’t hesitate to reach out for support as you navigate this transition.
For families, this is a great time to check in with your student. Open conversations, encouragement, and helping maintain structure at home can make a big difference. Even small gestures like asking how things are going or helping them plan out their week can provide meaningful support.
As we head into the final weeks of the school year, let’s focus on finishing strong, staying balanced, and supporting one another. If your student is feeling overwhelmed or needs additional support, please remember that our counseling team is here to help.
Let’s make it a positive and successful finish to the year!
Mrs. Harper
