Fire Works Pizza Spirit Night and Fire Truck visit!
We made the most of a short week!! Our theme was the Farm. Our Monkeys’ and Bears’ letter the week was C which lent itself nicely to music class! We're continuing our “Ode to Dolly” country-western theme with October’s Composer of the Month: Aaron Copeland. We listened to Copeland's "Hoedown" from his ballet "Rodeo". Our Sunbeams used scarves to mark the fast tempo of Hoedown! Our brain break was Country Freeze Dance. In Chapel, we read the story of (now grown up) Moses being called to rescue God's people from the Pharaoh in Egypt. God spoke to Moses through a burning bush so we also chatted about fire safety.
Picture proofs were emailed directly to parents with ordering instructions. If you have not received an email from Blaire/Second Ave Photography, let me know.
We cannot wait to welcome the Fire Fighters and Fire Trucks on Tuesday and Wednesday! Each year, we learn about fire safety and fire prevention from Leesburg's finest!! We are so grateful for their service to our community!
Spirit Night at Fire Works Pizza (Leesburg): October 21st from 4-9pm. Dine in or carry out but don't forget to mention GBP when ordering! Fire Works will donate a portion of the profits to GBP!
Halloween at GBP is October 27 (T/TH 2s, T/TH 3s and Owls) and October 28 (MW 2s, MWF 3s and Bees). Students are invited to wear their (preschool appropriate) costumes to school on their Halloween day. Big People are invited to join us for a Halloween Parade in the Sanctuary. Individual classes will send out information regarding their classroom celebrations/needs. 2s and 3s will "trick-or-treat" in the building. Owls and Bees will walk across Wirt Street to the Town Hall offices for trick-or-treating. Only non-edible treats are permitted. More information to come!
Please remember to pull up as far as possible on Wirt Street during drop off and pick up. Also, please do not block the driveway to the left of the Wirt Street doors, we do not own that property. Lastly, please remember (and share with anyone else who may pick up your children): our Owls and Bees are in their classrooms until Noon. If you arrive before noon to pick up your Owls/Bees/siblings, please remain in your vehicle so you can pull up when other parents leave.
-2s and 3s pick up: 11:50am-12pm
-4s and siblings pick up: 12-12:15pm
