Principal's Message
Hello, November! πππ€
It's hard to believe we're already welcoming November! It seems like we were just beginning the school year, and here we are heading into another busy and exciting month at HMS!
We wrapped up a great Red Ribbon Week, and I want to thank everyone who helped make it a meaningful experience for our students. From the dress-up days and contests to important lessons and our drug prevention assembly, it was a week filled with opportunities to have conversations that truly matter. You'll find a special thank-you to everyone involved below!
We're also excited to kick off middle school basketball season this week, and our Amira Reading Challenge continues with another round of student rewards!
Let's make it a great start to November, Miners! ππ€
β Mrs. Green, Principal
Thank You for a Great Red Ribbon Week!
Make a Difference. Be a Hero. Stay Drug Free.
What a great week at HMS! Thank you to all of our students and staff who participated in our Red Ribbon Week dress-up days and activities. We loved seeing everyone's creativity and school spirit while focusing on such an important message!
A special thank-you to everyone who helped make the week possible:
Mrs. Baker for organizing our contests and drug prevention assembly. We appreciate all the time and effort she put into making the week a success!
Hartshorne Police Department, our Chief of Police, and Pafford EMS for taking time to speak with our students about drug addiction, prevention, and the importance of community support.
Mr. Beare and Mr. Baker for providing fentanyl awareness and prevention lessons in their science classes.
Pafford EMS and our HMS Student Council for generously helping provide prizes for our students!
Red Ribbon Week is about so much more than wearing fun outfits. It's about helping our students understand the importance of making healthy choices, recognizing the dangers of substance use, and knowing there are people in their school and community who care about them and are here to help.
Contest winners will be announced this week, so stay tuned!
Thank you again to everyone who helped make Red Ribbon Week meaningful for our Miners! β€οΈππ€
