BEYOND THE CLASSROOM
One of the most profound parables I’ve ever heard begins with a quiet conversation between two unborn twins.
One turns to the other and asks, “Do you believe in life after delivery?”
The other pauses and replies, “Of course, there must be something after DELIVERY. Maybe we’re here to prepare for what comes next.
The first shakes his head. “That’s impossible. This is all there is. What kind of life could exist beyond this darkness?”
But the second dreams aloud. I don't know, but maybe there’ll be more light than here. Maybe we’ll walk with our legs, eat with our mouths, and speak with our voices. Maybe we’ll have other senses we can’t understand now.
The first scoffs: That’s ridiculous! Walking is impossible, and eating with our mouths is absurd. The umbilical cord scientifically supplies nutrition and all that we need, but it is too short. Life after delivery is logically excluded.
The second says: What if it’s just different than it is here? Maybe we don't need that physical cord anymore.
The first goes: Okay, if there was life after delivery, then tell me, why has no one ever come back from there? I tell you, delivery is the end of life, and after delivery is nothing but darkness and silence and oblivion ~ and it takes us nowhere.
But the second says: But certainly we’ll meet mother! .. and she’ll take care of us.
The first laughs. “A mother? Do you actually believe in a mother? If mother exists, where is she now? If there is a mother, don't you think she is supposed to be cuddling us and taking care of us instead of us just being here all alone?
But the second twin believes with quiet conviction. "I can’t see her, but I feel that she is all around us. We are of her, it is in her that we live. Without her, this sacred space—warm, dark, and full of promise—would never take form.
Then the first says: I don't see her. It’s only logical that she is not here.
To which the second replied: Sometimes when you are in silence and you really listen, you can perceive her presence, you can hear her loving voice calling down from above. I sense her warmth. I hear the rhythm of her heartbeat. Even if I don’t understand it, I know she’s there. I believe we were made for more—and that she’s waiting for us.”
This story is more than a parable. It speaks to our journey.
As we return from spring break, we’re not just heading into the last eight weeks of school—we’re growing into who we’re meant to be.
At CMIT North, we are a community that honors every culture, every belief, and every background. We celebrate our diversity because it makes us stronger.
Our leaders, including our CLF charter operators work every day to make this school a place where everyone feels safe, valued, and respected—no matter your religion, your language, or where you come from.
Our teachers prepare us, challenge us, and believe in us—especially when we doubt ourselves.
Together, we’ve reached new heights this year:
🏅 State Science Olympiad
🌉 National TRACC Bridge
🌊 International SeaPerch Challenge
These aren’t just wins—they are the results of belief, preparation, and a culture that sees potential in every student.
So, like the second twin, let’s choose hope over doubt, vision over fear, and faith over silence.
Let us trust each other, because we are made for more.
At CMIT North, we are being prepared for everything that lies ahead.

Spring Break with a Purpose
Dedicated Support for MISA & MCAP Success
While many students enjoy a well-deserved break, some of our dedicated scholars are using this time to focus on success! Tutoring for the Maryland Integrated Science Assessment (MISA) and MCAP Geometry continues, as students stay committed to preparing for these important standardized tests.
The next round of tutoring sessions will take place on April 22, 23, and 24. Their determination shows that for many, spring break isn’t just about rest—it’s about rising to the challenge. Let’s cheer them on!
Healthy Lunch Habits & Food Sharing Policy
Healthy Lunch Habits & Food Sharing Policy
Lunchtime is a vital part of your student’s day! Students should report directly to the cafeteria during their lunch period, and food must stay in approved areas. Encourage them to clean up after themselves and follow safety guidelines when using microwaves.
Please be reminded that students are not allowed to bring in food to share or sell, especially homemade or restaurant-purchased food items. Sharing food is strictly prohibited due to allergy concerns and PGCPS policy, which does not allow students to share or sell food or baked goods. School staff are not permitted to oversee or approve food-sharing among students.
Let’s work together to ensure a safe and respectful cafeteria environment for everyone. Thank you for your cooperation!
Best,
CMIT Admin Team
Spring Uniform Reminder
Spring Uniform Reminder: Skirt Length Compliance
Dear Parents and Students,
As the weather warms up and students transition to lighter clothing, we want to remind everyone of our uniform policy regarding skirt lengths. We understand that some students may have grown since the beginning of the year, which may affect the fit of their uniforms.
To ensure compliance, all skirts must be at knee length or, at minimum, reach the fingertips when arms are placed at the sides. Skirts that do not meet these guidelines will not be permitted. Students wearing skirts that are too short will either be provided with a pair of pants or an appropriately sized skirt to change into, or they will be required to spend the day in the intervention room. Our goal is to prevent students from missing valuable class time or receiving Kickboard violations, so we ask that all students check their skirt length before coming to school.
Important Notes:
• Pleated skirts, similar to cheerleader skirts, are often too short and should be avoided.
• Long shorts (not briefs) should be worn under skirts for modesty, particularly since students must climb stairs to get to class. However, this does not give permission to wear shorter skirts.
We appreciate parents’ support in ensuring students adhere to the uniform policy to avoid disciplinary consequences. Thank you for your cooperation in maintaining a respectful and focused learning environment.

Why MCAP & MISA Matter for Your Child at CMIT?
At CMIT, MCAP (Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program) and MISA (Maryland Integrated Science Assessment) are essential standardized tests that not only assess student learning but also count toward your child's academic success. Specifically, 20% of each student's test score is factored into their final grade—equivalent to a full quarter grade, making it a critical part of their overall performance.
Students need these assessments to demonstrate mastery of key concepts in English, Math, and Science, and to show they are on track for high school, college, and career success.
Parents, your encouragement makes a difference! Supporting your child with a positive mindset, consistent attendance, and good study habits can boost their confidence and performance.
Let’s continue working together to support student achievement at CMIT!
