Between Monday, July 27, 2026, and Friday, August 7, 2026, there will be limited office assistance due to Teacher Planning and several important school events, including mandatory staff trainings, Parent Orientations, Meet and Greet events, and Franklin Kickstart for our Kindergarten families.

The 2026 Florida Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday began on July 20 and runs through August 20, providing a full month of savings on essential back-to-school purchases.

What started as a short tax-free weekend has grown into a month-long opportunity for families to save on eligible school supplies, clothing, footwear, learning aids, and other back-to-school essentials. With an extended shopping period, families have more time and flexibility to prepare for a successful start to the new school year while taking advantage of valuable savings.

During this sales tax holiday:

You will not pay the 6% Florida state sales tax on eligible back-to-school purchases.
You will also be exempt from any applicable local discretionary surtax, providing even greater savings.
Savings apply to a variety of qualifying items, including clothing, footwear, school supplies, learning aids, and other back-to-school essentials.

Be sure to take advantage of this month-long opportunity to stock up on everything your child needs for a successful start to the 2026-2027 school year while enjoying valuable tax savings!

This event, often referred to as the "Tax-Free Holiday" or "Sales Tax Holiday," is designed to help families save money on back-to-school purchases and prepare for the upcoming school year.

Florida's 2026 Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday is part of HB 7031E, legislation passed by the Florida Legislature in June 2026.

The month-long tax holiday takes effect upon the Governor's approval and provides families with an extended opportunity to purchase eligible back-to-school items while enjoying valuable tax savings.

From school supplies and learning materials to clothing and footwear, this annual event helps ease the cost of preparing students for a successful school year.

Renaissance Learning/Accelerated Reader (AR) has conducted its annual rollover process and, as a result, elementary students will not have access to the AR program until the start of our new school year. We appreciate your understanding, and we look forward to another successful year of reading!

credentials will be shared with you via email by Friday, July 31, 2026.

How to Setup PowerSchool Parent Portal Account

Welcome to Franklin's Parent Academy Tutorial Series. As a Franklin parent, you get access to our PowerSchool Parent Portal. In the first few weeks of school, we will send you our PowerSchool Parent Portal access letter. This letter outlines the steps necessary to setup your parent portal account.. The first step is to open Student and Parent Sign In and click Create Account. Click Create Account. Click First Name. Type First Name and Press Tab. Type Last Name and Press Tab. Type Email and Press Tab. Type Re-enter Email and Press Tab. Type Desired Username and Press Tab. Type Password. Click Re-enter Password. Type Re-enter Password. Scroll down and click Student Name to enter your student's name. . Type Student Name and Press Tab. Type Access ID and Press Tab The confidential Access ID and Access password can be found in the Access letter we sent you. (see step 1 ). Type Access Password. Scroll down and click Enter. After you create your account, the portal sign-in page will reload with a message that your new PowerSchool account has been created. Check your email for a link to verify your account.. Find the verification email, which will be sent to the email address you listed on your account setup. Click the verification link. The PowerSchool Parent portal will reload, this time with a message that you have verified your account and can now login. Enter username . Type Password. Click Sign In. You now have a valid PowerSchool Parent Portal account and can login 24/7.

As a reminder of our long-standing policy regarding payment methods, personal checks are always accepted as payment on/after July 1 until April 30.

Uniforms are required and our dress code is enforced. To ensure equity and safety,

school uniforms must be purchased from iUniforms, our only approved uniform vendor.

Students enrolled in grades K-5 who have a sibling enrolled in grades 6-8/MYP Years 1-3 will be permitted to remain on campus in a supervised environment until their sibling is dismissed at 3:15 PM. Additionally, 6th through 8th grades/MYP Years 1-3 students who have siblings in grades K-5 may arrive on campus beginning at 7 AM with their K-5 sibling. This is a no-cost service to our families.

Please see your email/check in your PowerSchool account to let us know that your children will be participating in our Siblinglink program.

This innovative program provides students with a structured, safe, and positive environment for after school hours. More than just a place to go after school, students enrolled in the program are provided a variety of activities designed to engage imagination, support their academic growth, and enhance motor and social skills.
