A Message from Principal Bogan A Message from Principal Bogan

Hello Kimball Families,

As we approach the winter season, I want to take a moment to share how grateful I am for the Kimball community. Thank you for sending your child to school each day and for helping our community thrive.

As many of you know, the neighborhood—together with the school—has partnered with the city to close S. Hinds Street to car traffic before and after school. Please keep this in mind during drop-off and pick-up. Families will need to use 24th or 25th Ave S., and it is often easiest to park and walk up to the school.

This month, our social-emotional focus is Self-Esteem and Self-Control. This might look like students practicing positive self-talk, managing big feelings, or making thoughtful choices. Mr. Blanton, our school counselor, will be visiting each classroom to teach lessons connected to these skills. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to him at adblanton@seattleschools.org.

I also want to remind families of a few upcoming events this month:

  • Pastries with the Principal – Friday, Dec. 5
  • PTSA Meeting – Wednesday, Dec. 10

Please join me in welcoming back our guest Assistant Principal, Mr. O. He will be supporting us periodically throughout the year while Mr. Parker spends time with his growing family. Congratulations to the Parker family on the arrival of Baby Luna!

Additionally, we are fortunate to have an extra administrator in the building on Mondays and at various times during the year. Ms. Eaton, a teacher at Rainier Beach High School who is working toward her administrator credentials, will be serving as an intern at Kimball. We are excited to have her with us.

As we close out 2025, please take a moment to complete the volunteer paperwork on the SPS website if you haven’t already. We would love to see more families volunteering during recess and lunch. For classroom-specific volunteer opportunities, please reach out directly to your child’s teacher.

Thank you for being an essential part of our community.

In partnership,
Principal Bogan

Dear Kimball Elementary Families, Hello! My name is Brittany Eaton, but you can call me Ms. E. I am excited to serve as your Admin Intern for the 2025–2026 school year. I grew up in the South End of Seattle and graduated from Lindbergh High School. I later attended the University of Washington, where I earned a degree in English, and received my Master’s in Teaching from City University. I am currently continuing my education at City University to complete my administrative certification. This is my fourth year as a special education teacher, and I love what I do. I am pursuing leadership to be a voice for the voiceless, and I deeply believe in representation and in fostering a safe, healthy learning environment that supports all scholars’ growth and independence. When I’m not working, I enjoy watching movies, experimenting with new cookie recipes, and taking spontaneous walks. My guilty pleasures include shopping and eating cereal. Most of all, I am looking forward to working closely with all of you and becoming part of the incredible Kimball Elementary community! Warmly, Principal Intern Brittany Eaton (Ms. E)
