The Rhodes Ahead

Father Zarse and I have a dream of starting every day with Mass for our students. When we look at organizations that offer daily Mass, we admire the cultures they have established. I don’t think any human can have an idea on what God’s graces from attending Mass could do for all those at SHOJ.

One of our goals is to cultivate a deep love for the Mass, helping students understand the graces it offers while equipping them with the skills they need to live joyfully as God intends – preparing minds for the future and souls for eternity. We believe Mass can enhance our mission and are looking to increase our weekly attendance, but we also recognize the importance of balancing all aspects of the school day to maximize its impact.

First and foremost, we are always striving to grow in the most important part of our mission—helping students love and live the Catholic faith well. Supporting parents in guiding their children to heaven is at the heart of what we do, but, we also recognize our vital role in academic excellence. Our plan is to add in one additional Mass next year. Please know that we will work hard to ensure that as we consider the schedule and the impact it will have on our days, it only has positive results.

Over the next year, we will continue to assess its impact. With trust in God’s divine plan, we anticipate witnessing blessings beyond what we can currently imagine. As always, we will thoughtfully evaluate and refine our approach, ensuring that our decisions align with the needs of our students and the mission of our school.

Strength in Surrender,

Kathy Rhodes

Kansas Assessments are taking place in a few weeks and we want to support our 3rd through 8th grade students. We are creating snack bags to encourage our hard-working students throughout the testing sessions. If you would like to help us with this project, please see the sign-up link for more information. Thank you!
