26-27 School Year Theme: The Art of Growth
Welcome to August!
My plan is to send a monthly update throughout the year to help keep families informed and connected. Teachers will also share weekly "At a Glance" updates with learning objectives, conversation starters, reminders, and more.
Principal Updates 26-27:
Updates will be shared on the first of the month:
Tuesday, September 1---Thursday, October 1
Sunday, November 1---Tuesday, December 1
Friday, January 1---Monday, February 1
Monday, March 1---Thursday, April 1
Saturday, May 1---Tuesday, June 1
*Each Newsletter Will Be Updated As New Information Becomes Available
Please check back throughout the month. As I receive new information or schedules change, this newsletter will be updated so it always reflects the most current information available.
In Response to our Student Voice Report....
Here's what we've already put into action:
1. More Time for Lunch -- Beginning this school year, every grade level will receive 5 additional minutes for lunch -- one of the most common requests from students.
2. More Time Outside -- We are transitioning to a Full Scale Outdoor Specials class for all students which will involve more dedicated time outside. Mr. Gaspar, our new teacher has Big Dreams!
3.Protecting Brain Breaks -- Students told us that short opportunities to reset can help them learn. We will continue encouraging teachers to build intentional brain breaks into the school day.
School Supply Lists:
We know many families like to shop early (!)
To help with planning, we've posted the most recent supply lists for each grade level below. As teachers finish preparing for the new school year, they will communicate any minor additions or adjustments if needed. We don't expect significant changes from these lists.
AM Traffic Pattern
- Pre-K through 2nd Graders should be dropped off in front of School (Purple Route)
- 3rd, 4th, or 5th should be dropped off near the big field (Orange Route)
- 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders may get out in front with their Pre-K to 2nd Grade Sibling
