We have certainly started off the school year with lots of exciting events and lots of learning! We had an Amazing Back to School Night with so many families in attendance! We also joined together as a community at our Back To School Slush party and participated in the Yankee Doodle Parade! It was so nice to see so many families and students participate in our school events. We appreciate all who participated and hope to see even more families at future events.

Students who bring cellphones or smartwatches to school are required to keep them powered off and stored in their backpacks at all times. Our Elementary Handbook, located on the District and Ditson webpage, states Cellphones, smart watches, or any other electronic communication devices are not permitted to be used during the school day or on the buses. Students who bring cellonones to school must keep them off and in their backpacks. Cellphones that are takin out of backpacks can be confiscated and released only to parents. The school is not responsilbe for the loss of electronic devices and/or cellphones.

Improving student learning outcomes is the top priority for all of us here at the Ditson Elementary School. We know that parent and family engagement is one of the biggest factors in student success, and our new Ditson Elementary School App will allow parents to easily connect with what is going on at the school. From in-app translations to push notifications for urgent messages, we know this will be an impactful addition to our existing methods of communicating with families.
