Ranger Report
04/05/24
Hello Ranger Families:
We have a lot to celebrate this week in the Ranger Report! Next week begins our SBAC testing in science and I am excited to showcase our students’ hard work and academic accomplishments. Please encourage your student to put forward their best effort. We are also looking forward to our band and choir festivals as well as our spring play The Play That Goes Wrong. Fine arts recognition continues with a special shout out to our talented EHS artists who are participating this year in the Clackamas ESD Regional Art Show. In addition, we are hosting our College and Career Fair on April 9th and our spring sports are in full swing with our Ranger athletes playing hard. We have a lot to be proud of! Please scroll down this newsletter for details and pictures highlighting our incredible students.

Estacada School District is hosting Destination High Performance – April 17th and 18th
School districts from around the nation will visit our schools to learn more about our continuous improvement journey. On these days, the high school commons and cafeteria will be closed to students and lunch will be served in the main hallways and library. A selection of cold sandwiches and sides will be served.
A Focus on Academics
Please partner with us to ensure that your child is proficient in all essential learning standards. EHS teachers and counselors are working actively to reteach challenging concepts, reach out to families and create action plans for students who have not yet shown proficiency. We can do this!

A Focus on SBAC
Why - SBAC Matters:
We encourage high student participation in this test for multiple reasons. This test provides teachers with the data necessary to look at how our students are doing compared to other districts and allows us to make changes in our programs if needed. We do not receive any money for how our students do on this test, but it holds us accountable to ensure we provide a comparable education to other schools. For more information, see the Family guide linked below.
A Focus on Student Behavior
Each week in the Ranger Report I highlight one aspect of our student management expectations (linked below) with the goal of promoting clarity and communication with our parents in regards to behavior expectations and expected consequences. Our goal is to continuously improve our services to families by using data to drive our decisions. With that, now is a good time to ask “how are we doing?” Our fall parent survey results to the question “I believe school rules are enforced consistently at this school” scored a 3.57 out of a possible score of 5.0. I would like to take this opportunity to ask that question again to compare our scores and to see if we are on the right track. Please click on the link below to participate in this quick one question survey. Thank you for your help.
Prom Shop coming April 6th!
On April 6th from 11-2 the EHS Boosters club is hosting a "Prom Shop" in the commons at the high school. There will be dresses and some accessories for Juniors and Seniors to shop through and choose at no cost.
Have attire from a previous dance that you don't plan on wearing anymore? Bring it and add to the collection!
We hope to see you there!

Classrooms are Cell Phone Free Zones
Life is full of distractions that keep us from performing our best.
Our expectation is that classrooms are cell phone free zones.
The classroom is a space for learning and engagement in preparation for a student’s next step in life. Join us in fostering this commitment to learning by:
Talking with your student about their cell phone use in school.
Be prepared to set limits and to collaborate with school staff in making learning a priority.
