Dear Families,
What a lovely, tender week.. The Branbury picnic was so satisfying - good swimming, amazing face painting, delicious food, time for conversation and not too many mosquitoes. Thanks to Barbara for feeding us so well and all the others who helped out.
Tuesday, the fifth grade had a wonderful trip to Petra Cliffs. Everyone, including Kat and Jackson, challenged themselves to go beyond their comfort zones. They came back pleased and happy.
Wednesday’s graduation luncheon was yet another success - more good food from Barbara, a beautiful cake made by Louise Bowdish, a very sweet gift exchange between 4th and 5th graders. It was lovely to have parents and grandparents of the fifth graders join us.
Finally, Thursday evening was graduation. Each 5th grader made presentations we call “lupines” and it would be hard to imagine a more varied and personal collection of them. The spark and individuality of each student shown through. Families’ and friends’ love and support was palpable.
Progress Reports: Progress reports were sent home Thursday. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s teacher.
Summer Library: Thanks to funding from the Friends of Weybridge Elementary, the library will be open for summer hours on Tuesdays, from 4:00 - 6:00, starting on June 24th and continuing until August 19th. This is a lovely opportunity to stay connected to the school library through the summer, and is open to all.
Please check your inbox (and spam folders) for overdue notices from the library. We're getting there! Thanks, Megan
Monday, last day of school: Hard to believe but it is indeed the last day, a time of mixed emotions for sure. I hope you will join us at 10:00 for our annual talent show and again at 2:15 to say farewell.
Thanks, Christina

Warm Season Health Office Reminders
Now that the temperatures are rising, I want to send some care reminders out for families to keep in mind.
Sunscreen
Apply sunscreen at least 15 minutes before sun exposure
Choose sunscreen that is at least 30 SPF
Broad spectrum sunscreen protects against UVA and UVB radiation
Reapply every 2 hours or per the bottle instructions
For younger students, adults should assist with application
Bug Spray
Use the appropriate and recommended amount per spray bottle
Adults at home or school should apply bug spray - students can not spray themselves
If using sunscreen, let sunscreen dry for 20 minutes before applying bug spray
Bug sprays should contain no more than 30% DEET when used on children
Ticks
Recommended to do daily tick checks done at home
Avoid brush, tall grass and leaves
Wear tall socks and pants for when in tick habitats
Spray bug spray with Deet on the legs
If you find a tick on a student, an adult should remove it with teasers right way
General Reminders
Stay Hydrated
Wear hats to protect from the sun
Stay healthy and have fun with the outdoors while taking care of ourselves!

Branbury beach day
We’re raising pay for substitutes! Apply now!
Substitute teachers are crucial for our students, staff, staff, and schools! We are increasing our daily substitute teaching rate to $160/day for unlicensed subs and $200/day for licensed subs. This change begins on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 when students return from winter break. This flat rate replaces our sliding rate of pay for subs depending on the number of days worked.
To apply, you can email your interest to HR@acsdvt.org with "Substitute Position" in the subject line. You can also visit this listing on school spring.
Thank you to Barbara and our volunteers for lunch at the beach
