Great Start!

Hi Families:

What a great start! It was wonderful to see students in the building. I'm incredibly proud of the Hadfield staff for making meaningful connections and the dedication to continuing to grow and learn with their students, your children. Please know we will continue to work hard all year for and with you and your child(ren). If you ever have feedback or questions for us, just let us know!

Here are a few quick notes and reminders:

  • No School on Monday - Labor Day
  • Arrival is 8:30am - there is no supervision on the playground prior to 8:20am - no students should be on the playground before 8:20am.
  • All grade levels enter into a different door. This is essential in getting all 400 students to their classrooms as quickly as possible for breakfast.
  • Dismissal and pick up is at 3:40pm. If you need help with forming a one stop pick up, please message your child's teacher on ClassDojo OR call the office at 262-970-1505.
  • Park and Rec is an off-site partner using Hadfield's building to provide care before and after (CLC) for students 4K-5th grade. Park and Rec staff are in charge of full supervision of students during these times. See below for more information.
  • Dismissal routes - with a smaller school, we were able to have last minute changes in pick up routines. This year, we cannot. Please help us and your child(ren) by establishing a consistent routine for pick up (example: riding the bus home, or having a parent pick up).

This newsletter below will include:

  • Great first week pictures & some Open House photos too!
  • Class Dojo - please connect!
  • Before Care and After Care (CLC) information from Park and Rec
  • 22-23 School Calendar
  • 22-23 Hadfield Family Event Calendar
  • September Lunch Menu

On behalf of myself and everyone here at Hadfield, we are honored to work with YOU and your children & are looking forward to a great year!

Safety Drills

During the month of September we are required to hold all four safety drills. We also hold drills throughout the school year as well. The safety drill dates for September are:

Thursday September 8th - Fire Drill 10:15am

Thursday September 15th - Secure Drill - formerly called a Lockout Drill - 10:15am

Thursday September 22nd - Shelter in Place Drill - Tornado Drill - 10:15am

Thursday September 29th - Lockdown Drill - 10:15am

During these drills, no one will be able to enter or leave Hadfield. Please plan all student pick-ups before or after these times.

The safety of your children, our staff, and visitors to our campus is an ongoing priority that we continually assess, evaluate, and refine. Changes in our society over the past several years have made new safety policies and procedures necessary. Preparing for and practicing intruder drills are as necessary as are fire and weather drills. We have worked with our staff and students in preparing for all safety drills. Upon completion of each drill, we review and refine our plans to ensure the best response to such an event.

Park & Rec CLC - After School Pick Up

If your child is enrolled in the after school program with Park & Rec please go to Door #3 on Oakland and call this number 262-933-3146. The Park & Rec staff will bring your child to you are Door #3.

Annual Online Registration

If you haven't done so already please complete the School District of Waukesha Annual Online Registration which is accessible through the Parent Portal of Infinite Campus. These online forms need to be updated every year. It is very important that we have the most recent contact and health information for our students. Annual Online Registration is where you will update that information.

Go to www.waukesha.k12.wi.us to access the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.

If you have never logged into the Parent Portal or have forgotten your password contact Mrs. Roth at 970-1505 for access.
