Liberty Weekly Update

At School City of Hobart, we’re committed to providing a learning experience that allows your child to grow and flourish with technology.

That’s why we’ve teamed up with a student safety and digital wellbeing platform that is now protecting the devices your child uses at school, ensuring they stay safe and secure.

We’re reaching out to let you know that starting Monday you will receive a series of emails from Qustodio inviting you to join us in this world of digital wellbeing and giving you access to the Qustodio Parents App.

The app will provide you with insight on how your child is using their school devices and is provided at no cost to you. You will be able to manage what your child does on their chromebook outside of school hours, as well as pause the Internet on the device.

In addition to managing your child’s school-issued device, you will be able to install the Qustodio Parents App on up to 2 personal devices per child as well, such as cell phones or tablets!

Please accept the invitation by following the link that will be included in the Qustodio email next week and follow the steps to connect with your child’s account.

We celebrated 4th grade today for finishing their Too Good for Drugs program with Officer Art with recognition from the HPD, Dr. Buffington, and Mrs. Matthys.

Chromebook insurance is a separate fee this year for $25. If you signed the paper at Back to School asking for insurance the fee has been assigned to you in Skyward. The insurance is not effective until purchased. You can pay through Skyward or send exact cash or check to Liberty Elementary. Change will not be given. It is not too late to still purchase insurance if you opted out before. We strongly encourage all parents to purchase insurance.

Every Friday you will receive a weekly newsletter. This is the school's way of communicating important events and sharing all of the fun from the week.

You will also receive recorded notables and Remind text messages from the school on your phone.

The School City of Hobart uses Remind to communicate with families via text messages and/or phone calls.

What are some ways that we use Remind?

• District News- Weekly newsletter, emergency closings, and other important information
• Class Reminders from Teachers - Events, tests, homework, due dates
• Announcements and Celebrations

If you have not been receiving our messages and would like to, please reach out to your student's teacher for their Remind class code, which you will then text to 81010. For example, if you wanted to join a class with the class code @math, you would text @math to 81010.
