Dear BUE Families,

Happy December! It’s amazing to think we’re already in the final month of 2025. This time of year is always filled with excitement, energy, and plenty of learning opportunities for our students.

As we move into this festive season, we want to thank you for your continued partnership. Your support at home—helping with routines, encouraging reading, checking folders, and staying connected—makes such a positive difference in your child’s school experience. We appreciate everything you do to partner with all of us at BUE.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank a very special person, Jessica Barton. Jessica wanted to support Bea Underwood and our students. Jessica has donated bikes and scooters to help with our "Every School Day Matters!" attendance campaign. We will be drawing names and giving away several bikes in January for students with first semester perfect attendance!

Regular school attendance in elementary school sets the foundation for a child’s academic and personal growth. It provides the opportunity for consistent learning, social development, and emotional support, which are all essential for success in the later years of education and in life. By showing up Every Day, children develop a sense of responsibility, build strong relationships, and gain the skills they need to thrive academically and socially.

Thank you Jessica, for supporting our BUE kids!! Our campaign for Second Semester begins Jan 6th!

As temperatures continue to drop, please make sure your children come to school dressed warmly each day. Coats, hats, and gloves help keep our students comfortable and ready to learn—especially during morning recess and outdoor activities. If your family needs support with winter clothing, please reach out; we’re here to help.

Our Annual Penguin Patch is back! Dec 9th - Dec 12th. The Penguin Patch is a fun way for students to purchase inexpensive gifts for their families. Students will get the opportunity to browse the shop and make a wish list.

"Presents on Parade"

• 2nd Grade (Strong, Clark, Scilla & Kirk): Dec. 16th at 6pm

• 3rd Grade (Sytsma, Sigmon, Myers, DeKam & Schuckers): Dec. 16th at 7pm

"Dashing Through the Snow"

• 4th Grade (Aldrich, Fazzi, Drake & Jacoby): Dec. 18th at 6pm

• 5th Grade (Mendoza, Schott, Nelson, Emmalyn) Dec. 18th at 7pm

Holiday Parties will be on December 19th, from 2:15 - 3:15. Classrooms will have simple treats (individually wrapped and prepackaged) and some fun activities. All food brought in must be store bought. If you plan to participate, all volunteers need to be in our Raptor system. If you have not already, make sure to stop at the office with your ID so we can get you in the system. If you have any questions, please call the office at (970)285- 5703.
