Get Ready for the First Day Back!
It's almost time to start the 2025-26 school year! The first day of school for students will be August 7. This edition of the Shamrock Blast is full of information that you and your family might need to be prepared for the first day of school.
Please visit our Back to School Page for details. We hope you are as excited as we are–see you soon!
Important Information
Even if your student is already enrolled, returning students are required to update their demographics and student information before the start every school year. Please log in to PowerSchool using the button below. Select the 2025-2026 Returning Student Registration Icon (lower left side) and follow the prompts.
🚨 REGISTRATION NOTICE 🚨
New to this year, we've launched a one-stop resource for families! The Parent Portal is your go-to hub for quick access to school resources all year. We recommend families bookmark this page for easy access.
Bus Routes for 2025-2026
All bus routes for the 2025–2026 school year will be finalized on July 28, 2025. Families will be able to review their child’s bus stop information beginning August 1, 2025. New bus stop requests will be reviewed after the first full week of school. Requests for changes to existing bus stops will not be processed until after Labor Day (September 1, 2025).
Transportation Opt-Out Survey
To help us make the best use of space on our buses, we kindly ask that families complete a Transportation Opt-Out Survey for each student who will not be riding the bus this school year. Completing the survey will not affect your student’s eligibility to ride the bus later; it simply helps us build the most efficient routes possible. Click the button below to complete the survey.
Bus Tracking App
Did you know you can track your child's bus in real time? With the Here Comes the Bus app, you can! This helpful tool provides real-time bus tracking and student ridership alerts, giving you peace of mind as your child travels to and from school.
Students will be charged consumable fees, which cover specific class fees and supplies to enhance the educational experience. To learn about how and when to pay your child's fees, please visit the Consumable Fees page by clicking the green button below.
A new application for free/reduced fees must be completed each school year. If your family qualifies for free or reduced-price benefits through SNAP, TANF, Medicaid (based on income), or Foster Care, you do not need to complete the online application. However, if there are additional students in your household not listed on the approval letter you received from Westfield Washington Schools, please notify us so we can ensure they are included in your benefits.
Our foodservice team prides itself on providing all Rocks with a tasty and healthy breakfast and lunch experience. To purchase breakfast, lunch or snack at any Westfield Washington school, you must sign up through LunchTime and create an account for each child. Once enrolled, you can add money to your child's account. They will enter their Student ID at the register and the costs of the purchase will come out of that account.
To learn more about school lunches, meal costs, account funds, food allergies, and more, please visit the Foodservice webpage by clicking the green button below.
Immunizations
The Indiana Department of Health requires all students meet the school immunization requirements by the first day of school. Immunization records or exemptions must be received by the school nurse by August 7, 2025 for the 2025-26 school year. This is a friendly reminder that students entering 6th and 12th grade are required by the state of Indiana to have updated immunizations on file. For more information or to access exemption forms, please visit our Health Services page.
Frontline Health Portal
New to this year, Westfield-Washington Schools has licensed the Frontline Health Portal to provide you with convenient, 24-hour online access to items in your child’s health record. Click the button below to learn more.
TalkingPoints allows for seamless two-way communication between teachers and families! Families can choose to receive messages via SMS text messaging or through the free FAMILIES | TalkingPoints mobile app for Apple or Android.
This platform has enhanced translation capabilities, so families can receive and send messages in their preferred language. Additional tools like speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and closed captioned videos make this program accessible to all of our Westfield families.
The most important thing you can do to ensure you are receiving messages from your child’s teacher is to make sure your contact information for the “Father” and “Mother” fields in PowerSchool is correct. When a teacher sends out a message, TalkingPoints will automatically use those two phone numbers. If you’d like to add additional contacts, please reach out to your child’s teachers.
In an effort to constantly improve and enhance school safety, we use SafeVisitor. All visitors and volunteers will have to register with SafeVisitor and complete a background check. This is done for the safety of your children and our staff. By registering, you can assist in their classroom, chaperone field trips, meet your student for lunch and much more.
To register, please click the green button below. To learn more about school safety procedures at Westfield Washington Schools, please visit our school safety page below.
Watch the video below to learn how to report an absence online via PowerSchool.
