Family & Consumer Sciences
Family & Consumer Sciences: Not Your Grandma’s Home Ec!
In Council Rock, Family & Consumer Sciences (FCS) is where creativity meets real-world skills, preparing students for life beyond the classroom! From designing interiors and creating fashion to exploring global cuisines, mastering nutrition, and developing essential life skills, our students are learning by doing. At the high school level, courses in parenting, early childhood education, and career exploration provide hands-on experiences that connect classroom learning to future opportunities, while our middle school students build a foundation in cooking, nutrition, and sewing. Whether students are whipping up international dishes, bringing their own designs to life, or learning how to navigate adulthood, FCS is all about building confidence, independence, creativity, and skills that last a lifetime!

E-Bike Safety
An Important Message to Parents
"With spring here and summer approaching, your local police agencies are beginning to report issues with children operating electric bikes in violation of state law, creating hazards to the motoring public, and disrupting local business centers. Please educate yourself and your children regarding these types of vehicles to prevent a local tragedy, and ask your children to be respectful of others' properties and rights. Together we can make a safer community!"
