CSD is meeting or exceeding 100% of PVAAS Growth Performance Targets in science for the first time in at least over a decade (10 years).
CSD used the NCEA Core Practice Framework model to help us develop and support a coherent, comprehensive, and sustained approach to our improvement efforts. The Framework provides both structure, a way of categorizing those educational practices that distinguish higher-performing schools from others, and content, a collection of information on the practices themselves. As such, it provides an organizing guide for all improvement decisions. The structure of the Framework is built around five primary challenges (themes) that must be addressed in order to improve teaching and learning in a school system.
Achievement and Progress
When achievement and progress information are used together (as shown in the graphic), it provides powerful insight into the impact schools and teachers have on student learning.

As we continue our journey through these evolving times in education, I want to share with you the most recent upgrades we've made or are in the process of enhancing related to school safety, security, and mental health services in our district.
Two-Way Radio Improvements
Two-way radio communication is crucial in school districts because it provides a reliable, instant, and private way for staff to communicate across the campus and school district, especially during emergencies, allowing for swift responses to incidents and efficient coordination of operations, all while maintaining safety for students and staff. Unlike cell phones, radios can reach everyone on the same channel simultaneously and work even in areas with poor cell reception.
This limitation in CSD was identified and we have been working to make improvements. Not only have we ordered new two-way radio equipment for all schools, I am happy to share that antenna installations were completed this week. Radio repeaters will be programmed and installed in the next phase then radios will be programmed and deployed.
Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) Grant
CSD was awarded a third grant from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) for $200,488.00. The focus of this grant is School Safety and Mental Health. The Office of Student Services has built in the following needs aligned with the grant regulations: 2 years of virtual therapy support for our CSSCA and CVLA students, as well as a Registered Behavior Technician, to support students in our Emotional Support classes for this spring.
As a reminder, during the 2023-24 school year, CSD received two other PCCD grants:
A. Social Emotional Learning grant for $166,437.00 over 2 years, which was Board approved for supporting Social Emotional Academic Learning (SEAL) Coaching with Believe Learning, as well as continued work around Purposeful People/Character Strong - our K-8 SEAL Curriculum.
B. School-wide Positive Behavior Support for $45,000.00 over 2 years, which was Board approved for supporting additional Mental Health Counselors.

Celebrating Student Achievement: SWPBIS Rewards & Mystery Motivator Mural Painting
At McDonald Elementary, we believe in recognizing and celebrating students who consistently demonstrate positive behavior and follow our Four Be's Plus One guidelines: Be Kind, Be Safe, Be Ready, Be Your Best, and Be Proud to be a McDonald Bulldog. This week, we were thrilled to celebrate the students who earned Bulldog Bones as part of our SWPBIS (School-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports) program.
These students showed outstanding character and commitment to making McDonald a wonderful place to learn and grow. As a reward for their positive behavior, they earned a spot in our Mystery Motivator Activity, where they had the chance to participate in a special project.
Our Mystery Motivator winners were invited to join Mrs. Loro, Art teacher, in a fun and creative mural painting activity near the Kindergarten Hallway. Working together, these students collaborated beautifully to design a colorful, vibrant mural that will brighten our hallways for years to come. Their teamwork, creativity, and pride in their work are truly inspiring, and the mural serves as a lasting reminder of the positive impact they have on our school community.
We are incredibly proud of our students who earned Bulldog Bones and participated in this exciting activity. Their achievements reflect the heart and spirit of our school, and we can’t wait for everyone to see the beautiful mural they helped create!
Thank you to all of our students for continuing to be wonderful examples of the Four Be’s and for making McDonald Elementary a better place for everyone.
Keep up the great work, Bulldogs!

Klinger FIRST Lego League Robotics prepares for competition!
The Klinger 6th Grade FIRST Lego League Robotics Team has been diligently preparing for our competition in December.
This year's theme is SUBMERGED.
Students were given many challenges to overcome this season:
1.) Students are working to help identify and solve a problem through research and innovation.
2.) Students are designing and coding a robot to complete missions.
3.) Students are working as teams to exemplify the FIRST Lego League Core Values.
Our season will wrap up in December with our competition hosted at Klinger Middle School.

THE ARTS
WTHS Students Attend the Greenfield Film Festival
Congratulations to the students in Mrs. Dina McCaffery’s Advanced Media Production class and the BWTV crew who participated in an exciting workshop with filmmakers during the Greenfield Film Festival workshops at Upper Dublin High School on Wednesday. Students had the opportunity to delve into the world of cinema and gain invaluable insights from industry professionals. Throughout the workshop, students had the opportunity to learn about various aspects of filmmaking, from scriptwriting and directing to cinematography and editing to prop making and set design.
The workshop aims to prepare students to produce short films. By collaborating with filmmakers, students got a firsthand look at how to hone their creative skills and expand their knowledge of the art of storytelling through film. Beyond the technical aspects, this workshop also encouraged teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills. Looking forward to seeing what our student filmmakers produce using their newfound knowledge!
