Calvary Moravian Church Weekly
Watchword for the Week
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
~ Psalm 27:1
Third Sunday after the Epiphany - January 25, 2026
We would love to have you join us for worship this Sunday!
As always, all are welcome—just as you are!
Since we had to cancel our in-person service this past weekend from the snow, the bulletin for this Sunday (1/25) may look familiar. We will be repurposing the order of service and bulletins we had planned for the eighteenth.
Our 10am Sunday service will be available virtually at our Calvary Moravian Church Allentown YouTube page. You can find the link below:
A direct link to the YouTube Livestream can be found by clicking here.
Do you have a prayer request you would like shared during our prayers of the people portion of our service? If so, please contact Pastor Mikayla at revmikayla@gmail.com or fill out this form by Saturday to get your prayer request or praise included! Please make sure to get permission before submitting a request on behalf of someone else.

The world belongs to God, the earth and all its people.
How good it is, how wonderful to live together in unity.
Love and faith come together; justice and peace join hands.
If Christ’s disciples keep silent, these stones would shout aloud.
Open our lips, O God, and our mouths shall proclaim your praise.

Partnering with the Conference of Churches
We have two new oppportunities to partner with our friends over at the Lehigh Conference of Churches! The first is an exciting update: The Soup Kitchen has received a grant to open on Saturdays! This means the conference is now able to offer meals to our neighbors six days a week instead of five. They are looking for a team of volunteers who are interested in serving breakfast and/or lunch once a month. Calvary would love to put together a team to serve lunch once a month. The time commitment is 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM. The conference will provide the food, a volunteer team would then arrive to prep, cook, and serve the food. A separate staff team remains to clean up. If you've wanted to volunteer on one of our two weekday teams but haven't been able to make the schedule work, this might be for you!
Calvary is hoping to put together a team of 4-5 people. If you are interested in learning more or to join our new weekend soup kitchen ministry team, please contact Pastor Mikayla.
The second way we are partnering with the Conference of Churches is to collect items to restock their weather alert bags for neighbors in need! The primary items needed at this time are ready-to-eat breakfast/lunch/dinner items such as:
- Dry Cereal
- Granola/Breakfast Bar
- Fruit Cup
- Dry Milk pouch
- Instant Coffee
- Bottled Water
- Chicken/Tuna Packets
- Easy-to-open Soup Cans
- Individual bagged chips
- Beef Jerky
- Trail Mix
- Oranges
- Wrapped pastries
- candy bars
- Juice boxes
We will be collecting items through February 15th for the conference. Items can be donated in the grey tote at the back of the sanctuary. If there are any questions, please contact Pastor Mikayla for more information.

The Calvary Comfort Food Challenge - March 1st after Worship
Calvary is bringing back our Conversation Church Worship gathering on March 1st this year, and to keep the fellowship time going we are having a potluck lunch, with a twist, to follow!
Join us after worship on Sunday, March 1st, for a potluck meal full of good food, good company, and a little friendly fun!
We’re hosting our first Comfort Food Challenge, and everyone is invited to participate, whether by cooking, tasting, or cheering others on. Those who wish to enter the challenge may choose one (or both!) of the following categories:
-
Comfort Food Main Dish
-
Comfort Food Dessert
Think of the foods that feel like home; dishes that warm the heart, bring back memories, or simply make a hard day better.
Best of all, this is an event where everybody wins… but a few people will win twice! Whether you bring a dish or just bring your appetite, there’s a place for you at the table. Come share a meal, enjoy the fun, and celebrate community together.
Sign ups and more details to follow in February! For any specific questions, contact Pastor Mikayla or the Congregation and Community Engagement Team (Formerly known as the Outreach Committee).

As we prepare for the new year, we’re excited to update and expand our Church Directory!
Please help us by sending your current contact information, including your phone number, email address, and physical mailing address, to the church office.
Please email your contact information, even if nothing has changed.
This year, we’re also adding a special new section highlighting the professional and personal masteries and interests of our members. Participation is completely voluntary, and we’d love to include your photo as well! You may submit a favorite recent photo you already have. Thank you for helping us create a directory that celebrates the people and gifts that make our church family so special!

Ways to Give to the Ministries at Calvary
As reminder, there are several different ways to give your offerings here at Calvary.
- Bring your offering to Sunday worship.
- Mail your offering to the church office at 948 N. 21st Street, Allentown, PA 18104.
- Use your bank’s “BILL PAY” service. A one-time or recurring payment can be made by a bank on your behalf. Banks that offer this service typically cut a check and mail it to the church at no cost to you. Contact your bank for details. The bank usually asks for an account number. Just call Calvary office beforehand and Jess will supply an account number to you or just use your envelope number.
- Make an online payment through the Moravian Giving Portal – https://mmfa.info/giving-portal/. Go to this link, click on our church’s name and follow the instructions to make a one-time gift or a recurring monthly gift. Donations can be made by members and non-members via direct debit of a bank account or by credit card. All donation processing fees for portal gifts are now paid by the Moravian Ministries Foundation – your full donation will be received by your church.
