Preparing for State Assessments

Beginning the week of April 3, our 3rd grade students will be taking the required state assessment for the state of Kansas. Students have been preparing for these tests all year and next week is an opportunity for students to show what they know. There are ways to make sure that your child is able to perform at their best on these tests. Check out these tips in an article from Scholastic (below).

Help Your Child Prepare for Standardized Tests

Standardized tests play a major role in today's schooling. Your child may take one or more standardized tests each year, and her teacher may devote a significant amount of class time to preparation exercises. Several states administer "high stakes" tests, which can have a significant impact on school assessment and funding, determine your child's class placement, or even prevent grade promotion.

Please take time to review Bus Expectations with your Child

As we reach the last quarter of the school year, please take a few minutes to review important safety expectations for riding the school bus with your child. We want all of our jaguars to have a safe ride to and from school each and every day!

Let's Shoot for 100% average daily attendance for 4th quarter!

Second Step Resource

Our staff continue to prioritize the social emotional learning for our students. Second Step programs are research-based, teacher-informed, and classroom-tested to promote the social-emotional development, safety, and well-being of children from Early Learning through Grade 8.

Your child participates in these lessons designed to help students have more positive attitudes toward themselves and others, show more positive social behaviors in school, and have fewer conduct problems. This results in greater school connectedness, which helps keep students safe and out of trouble.
