Mr. Covert's Musings
With the new grading system that was started last year, it's so important that seniors continue to work hard until they walk across the stage at TU Arena! Remember that for a full year course, students earn a 1/2 credit for Semester 1 and a separate 1/2 credit for Semester 2. If a senior does not earn the 1/2 credit for Semester 2 for a graduation requirement, they will not walk across the stage with their peers and will have to attend summer school to recover those credits.
Please keep pushing your senior to finish strong. If you notice that they are getting impacted by Senioritis, please contact their school counselor or Assistant Principal, so they can help support them.
Bulls on Parade - February Edition
There are some awesome students in the latest edition of the Bulls on Parade. We had so much fun celebrating them during lunches this week. I want to give big shoutout to the staff and students who have joined our merry band who plays triumphant music announcing our winners! I'm sure your student will agree that I'm the best kazoo player they've ever seen!
Happy School Social Work Week
March 1-7 is National School Social Work Week, and I would like to give a big shoutout to our School Social Worker, Ms. Molly Esworthy. As you know, Ms. Esworthy is a champion for students, and works tirelessly to support our school and community. If Ms. Esworthy has impacted your family, please take time this week to send her a message thanking her for her support!
Towson University Model UN Conference
This year, HHS students participated in Towson University's Model UN Conference. 250 students from around BCPS came together to debate AI use on a global scale. They drafted multiple resolutions in committees and even managed to pass one through a full general assembly vote. Our students did an awesome job thinking critically and sharing their resolutions with their peers.
