Week of November 16th, 2025

Dear Falcon Families,

Well, that was quite a week! I want to thank you all again for your calm response and for allowing us to do what was needed to ensure our students were safe on Thursday afternoon. On Friday, I am happy to share that our students and staff returned to our regular routine, even a rainy day routine, and in visiting every classroom and spending lunch recess with our kids, I was able to see students felt secure and happy. We want to thank our Board Trustee, Mr. James Cho, for dropping in Friday morning before school to provide coffee and doughnuts for our staff. It was a lovely and welcome treat to start our day! A big thank you to another Falcon family for dropping off iced coffee and pastries as well. We sure felt the love and support Friday morning! 🫢

Each spring when I send the Parent survey, overwhelmingly what stands out is how our community loves, trusts and supports our staff. In events like this past Thursday, it's easy to see why you feel that way. Thank you Falcon families! As we head into the final week before Thanksgiving break, I am grateful for our extremely dedicated staff, students and parent community. Fern Drive really is a special place!

This week, we are on our regular bell schedule all week with our dismissal at the regular time each day. Next week, we have the whole week off for Thanksgiving break. December will bring us three weeks and then winter break. During a busy holiday season, one of the best ways to help our students be successful in school is to keep your regular routines at home as much as possible. That means continue with regular bed times, continuing with dedicated homework time each night and reminding your Falcon to eat healthy meals. Talking to your kids about changes to your usual schedule prior to the change also brings a sense of calm and security, helping to make that routine change happen as smoothly as possible.

Pathways of Hope:

To assist our Fullerton families in need this season, a collection box for PATHWAYS OF HOPE has been placed inside the school office through December 4th. Students will be able to drop off their donations in either of those locations. Thank you for helping to make the holiday season a bit brighter for Fullerton families in need.

Lunch and breakfast will continue to be free for all students daily. We will still do a lunch count daily so please discuss with your student the importance to take a correct lunch count. Some students bring a lunch to school and then at lunchtime go get a school lunch. This results in some lunch shortages of the choice meal that day. Lunch options are still available and all children will be fed but often when this happens, the "lunch of the day" runs out. Please review with students the importance of this an accurate lunch count.

An important reminder to drive SLOWLY and SAFELY through our parking lot and on Fern Drive. Cars are driving too fast through our parking lot and students are also exiting cars in the drive through lane. This is not safe and we need to follow our drop off/pick up protocols. Students are only permitted to exit their car on the SIDEWALK side of their car in the drop off lane, NOT the drive-through lane. A reminder that adults are not permitted to exit the car. Students should be ready to exit when their car pulls into the drop off lane. As cars pull away, please be sure you are driving SLOWLY and cautiously. Drive slowly on Pico and Fern Drive as well. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Our students, families and staff should be safe at all times.
