LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEER COACHES FOR "LET ME RUN" PROGRAM
"Let Me Run" is looking for volunteers to coach a Deer Run "Let Me Run" team!
"Let Me Run" is a curriculum-based running and wellness program for boys in elementary school. Twice a week for seven weeks, coaches guide teams of six to fourteen 3rd-5th grade boys through the program and each season culminates in a 5k race that celebrates the boys’ emotional, social and physical growth.
To bring "Let Me Run" to Deer Run, we need at least 2 volunteer coaches. A rotation set of 2-4 coaches allows flexibility. Biweekly practices last one hour and fifteen minutes. LMR provides coaches with the curriculum to guide lessons, exercises and fun activities. Coaches can be parents, staff, or community volunteers. CURRENT VOLUNTEERS: Be sure to double check the expiration date on your volunteer card. You cannot "renew" your card and instead must complete the background check process again before it expires. Thank you for attending to this well in advance of your volunteering date.
PTO HELPING HANDS
Are you willing to help the PTO on events throughout the year? "PTO Helping Hands" is a great way to get involved without making a long term commitment. If we are running short on volunteers for an event or have a small ask here or there, we will reach out to this list. Please sign up at the link below!
AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
There are a number of after school classes available for our Deer Run students, including art, robotics, fashion, engineering, and drama - there is something for everyone! Visit this link for registration information!
KROGER COMMUNITY REWARDS
Are you signed up for "Kroger Community Rewards"? With a few simple steps, you can link your Kroger Shop Card to Deer Run and a small donation will be made to our school every time you shop. It does not cost you anything and it does not pull from your rewards.
Follow these steps to sign up -
- Sign in to your digital Kroger account on the app or your computer.
- In the drop down on the left hand side, Find "Rewards", then select "Community Rewards". On the website, click on "My Account" under your name, and then select "Community Rewards".
- Search for "Deer Run Elementary School", select, and click "Save". Your selected organization will now display in the Kroger Community Rewards section of your account.
