Please join me on Thursday, March14, at 8:00am for the monthly Corbett Grade School Principal Chat. We will meet in the grade school staff room and talk about literacy instruction at Corbett Grade School. I will also be at the March 14 Corbett PTA Meeting for another principal chat at 6:30pm. This month's PTA meeting will be held at Peline's Restaurant located at 25627 SE Stark in Troutdale.

A reminder that Corbett School District will be on Spring Break during the week of March 25 - 28. Students return to school on Monday, April 1 and that's no fooling!

Kids Heart Challenge is wrapping up next week, and we are so proud of our school! So far, 92 students have signed up and our community has raised over $6,500 – WOW! Thank you for your support There is still time to sign up & raise lifesaving donations! Help us reach our goal by following these steps:

1. If you haven’t, Sign Up TODAY at http://www2.heart.org/goto/Corbett or by downloading the free AHA Schools App for Apple or Android
2. Once you sign up, please SEND 10 emails/texts to friends & family asking for a donation!
3. Complete Finn’s Mission to learn Hands-Only CPR & be entered into the raffle to earn two tickets to Super Bowl LIX in 2025!

To claim an item, please email Carrie Evans (cevans@corbett.k12.or.us) with the item number, a description of the item, your child's name, and their classroom teacher. Unclaimed items will be donated on Thursday, March 21.

Weekly Lost and Found items can be found on the rack near the grade school gym.

On Tuesday, March 6 our 5th grade Math is Cool team competed in the region championships at Sky View High School in Vancouver, Washington. Thanks to Corbett High School Mathletics that helped to coach this year's team along with Mrs. Chiu and Mrs. Meadows!

Our sixth grade students were invited to attend Starbase PDX Advanced on Fridays at Corbett Grade School. We have Eleven students that have chosen to participant in this exciting opportunity. Each session goes from 9am until 12pm for seven Fridays for a total of 21 hours of advanced STEM activities. On Friday, March 1, students worked with Sphero Bolt Robots to learn how to program

Corbett's application to attend for the 24-25 school year is now open until March 30. If your child already attends Corbett School District, you do not need to reapply for 24-25. If you have a child that is not yet enrolled, you need to apply for admission. This is especially important for our new kindergarteners for the 2024-25 school year.

We are always in need of people to substitute in classrooms and as educational assistants in our school. If you are interested just sign up with Edustaff. The process takes about two weeks and once you have completed their application just let us know that you are available to substitute!

If you would like to volunteer, please complete the volunteer form application. Once you have been approved, let us know when and where you would like to help out. We are always in need of extra help during our K/1 and 2/3 lunches and recesses. K/1 lunch/recess is 11:30am - 12:05pm and 2/3 recess/lunch is 12:15pm - 12:55pm.
