This Week at FBS
Welcome Back, Hornets!
The start of a new school year is here, and we are ready to welcome everyone back to Fessenden-Bowdon School! There has been a lot happening behind the scenes to get classrooms, schedules, and programs ready, and we are looking forward to having our students back in the building.
Our first day of school is Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
Doors open: 8:00 AM
Classes begin: 8:30 AM
JH/HS Welcome Assembly: 8:30 AM in the Old Gym
Students should not arrive before 8:00 AM, as supervision is not available prior to that time. Breakfast will be available in the morning before classes begin.
Starting the Year
The first few days are all about getting back into routines, reconnecting with one another, and setting the tone for a successful year. We appreciate everyone's patience as students and staff adjust to new schedules and procedures.
A few reminders as we get started:
Infinite Campus: Families should make sure they are connected to the Parent Portal. This will be an important place to find grades, attendance, schedules, announcements, and other school information.
Weekly Updates: Watch for this newsletter each week! We will use it to share important reminders and upcoming dates, along with highlights of the great things happening throughout our school.
There is a special energy that comes with the beginning of a new school year. I am excited to see our students reconnect with friends and teachers, meet new faces, and get back to learning.
Thank you to our families for your continued support and for trusting us with your children each day. We are fortunate to serve the students and families of Fessenden-Bowdon, and I am looking forward to a great year together.
Welcome back, Hornets! Here’s to a great 2026–2027 school year!

⏰ End-of-Day Dismissal
To help keep dismissal safe, organized, and efficient, students in grades PK-4 will be dismissed in three groups: bus riders, parent pickup, and walkers.
3:28 PM — Bus Riders & Parent Pickup
- Bus riders will be walked outside and loaded onto their buses.
- Parent pickup students will exit Door 10 with an adult to meet their parents.
Please Note: To help dismissal run smoothly, parents will not be allowed into the building between 3:25–3:35 PM. After 3:35 PM, families are welcome to come inside to visit a teacher, stop by the office, or pick something up.
3:35 PM — Walkers & Daycare
- Walkers will be dismissed after the buses have departed to help reduce traffic and keep students safe.
Change of Plans?
If your child’s after-school plans change, please contact the school office by 2:30 PM so we have enough time to notify your child and their teacher.
Thank you for helping us make dismissal safe and smooth for everyone!
