A Note From the Principal
There sure is a lot to be thankful for as we roll into December. Here's a short list off the top of my head:
- Expanding after school programs: we have more offerings from teachers and more kids involved than ever.
- Highly involved parent volunteer community: we are seeing unprecedented parent support in classrooms this year.
- Active Site Council and PTO: These groups create fun activities for students and actively promote the importance of investing in education throughout the community.
- Snow and sun together!
- Winter Concerts: December 3rd and 4th (see below for details)
- Chess starting up in January.
- Student Council: They are giving back from their first meeting by organizing the food drive. I wish you could have seen the Food Pantry staff when I showed up with a truckload of food dontations!
- Student artwork: Teachers continue to provide high quality art lessons resulting in amazingly creative student work.
- Winter Benchmark Testing December 9th, 10th, 11th: Yes, I am thankful for this. This valuable data helps us see if we are on track to meet our goals and allows us to make mid-year adjustments to our programing to maximize individual student growth.
- 6-7: (why not - it has been fun leaning into this one.) On the 67th day of school, we hid the number around the building and when kids found these slips, they came to the office for a prize. And students had fun making equations that - 67.
The bottom line is I wake up in the morning energized and excited to spend the day with this fun, professional staff and your incredible children. Thanks for sharing them with all of us!
Prearranged Absence Form
If you are planning a trip or have a scheduled absence between 5 and 10 school days, please see our website or the school office for a Prearranged Absence Form to complete at least 5 days prior to the scheduled absence. Teachers will provide work for up to 5 school days.
Winter Concerts
A note from Mrs. Moore-
Parents,
We are so excited about our upcoming shows in a couple of weeks. Students are to wear festive outfits. We are looking for reds and greens, sparkles, lights that blink, ugly Christmas sweaters, elf or Santa hats etc. If the only Christmas themed outfits they have are PJs, that is fine as well. Thank you in advance for helping your child find a costume that works for them. We look forward to seeing you all there. You don’t want to miss out!
