ISU ACADEMIC SIGNING DAY

April 3 @ 10 am in the New Gym @ Blackfoot High School:

ISU Academic Signing Day is our opportunity to celebrate students and acknowledge their scholarship to Idaho State University. Similar to National Letter of Intent (NLI) signing days for student-athletes, we believe that it is equally important to recognize students for their academic achievements and intentions to pursue higher education. During the event, eligible students would sign their scholarship certificate, receive special ISU memorabilia, and be recognized at school during the day with their friends, family, faculty, staff, and peers cheering them on. Participating in the event does not mean students must commit to attending ISU, but rather acknowledges their accomplishments and celebrates them receiving their scholarship offer! We will hold this in the new gym at Blackfoot High School and would love to have parents join us for this event.

Driver's Ed

We are now accepting Driver's Ed payments for the next school year. It is $25.00, once payment is made, your spot will be held for the next available class. Classes will begin August 25th, and they are 6-week sessions. We are able to take 32 students per class, they do fill up quickly! Your student must be 14 1/2 on the first day of the month starting the class and must be enrolled in the Blackfoot School District during that time.

If your student has taken an IDLA class or any other state-qualifying classes and failed, they will be required to pay the full amount of $250.00. Classes are at 6:45 am in room 309 here at Blackfoot High School.

If you are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can move other students around to be sure and have a full class.

If you are a no-call, no show, you are subject to pay $25.00 again...as this only holds your spot in the class.

ART Competition

Our Head Drawing Art class met with our local veterans last trimester to talk with them and hear their stories, and where they served. As a tribute to their service, each student completed a portrait of a Veteran, which they are going to submit to the Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest. These entries will go first to our local VFW for preliminary judging, and winners will move on to State. If they win State, they will head to the National Competition. I'll let you know more about it! Wish them luck!

They compete at a regional competition in Idaho Falls against all the area schools from 1A through 6A schools to qualify to represent Blackfoot at the state competition. We have had a great year and look forward to the National Competition in Orlando, Florida.
