November is National Diabetes Awareness Month. This disease has been referred to as an epidemic in the United States. Most of our children may have a relative or even a friend that has diabetes. It is important to know your risk factors and ways to prevent, delay, and manage this disease. Below are several links and a video you can watch with your child. VIP lunch guests MUST scan their ID and check in at the front office prior to the VIP Lunch. We recommend arriving 10-20 mins early for your child's VIP Lunch.


Refer to the chart below for the modified lunch times for next week (Wednesday, November 20 Thursday November 21, and Friday, November 220 due to VIP Lunches.

What’s Growing On in the CLES Garden What’s Growing On in the CLES Garden

The last 2 weeks the garden has been hosting more of our students. Our Faulkner County Extension Agent has been visiting and teaching them about sweet potatoes. All of our third graders, some of our fourth, and one of our second grade classes were able come!

In other news, we do have some colder weather in the forecast. We have lots of lettuce growing in our garden, and it will not be happy in these colder temperatures. We would love to see some of our families come out to harvest before the cold. So, we invite you to the garden after the car rider pick up line to harvest with your student today or early next week before the cold temperatures cause damage. Please help yourself to lettuce!
