Week 2

Focusing Our Commitment to Unlimited Success
Safety Week
In Channelview I.S.D., our mission is to foster the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical growth of all students, preparing them to be productive and responsible members of our community. While we are dedicated to serving our students every day, the safety of our students and staff remains our top priority.
Next week is CISD's Safety Week, a crucial time for us to reinforce our commitment to safety. Throughout the week, we will conduct daily drills to ensure that all students and staff are well-prepared for various emergency situations. Each day will focus on a different safety protocol:
- HOLD: In your room or area.
- SECURE: Get inside. Lock outside doors.
- LOCKDOWN: Locks, lights, out of sight.
- EVACUATE: To a location.
- SHELTER: State Hazard and safety strategy.
These drills are designed to educate and prepare everyone for situations such as fires, severe weather, or active shooter scenarios. Our staff and students undergo annual training on these protocols, and we practice drills monthly or semi-annually, depending on the type of drill.
We encourage you to discuss these safety procedures with your child to reinforce their importance.
We hope this information provides you with a clearer understanding of the safety measures in place at Endeavor High School. Thank you for your support in keeping our school community safe!
Activity Day!
During today’s activity period at Endeavor High School, students engaged in an important session focused on the Standard Response Protocol. Through a video presentation and an interactive discussion, they learned about their roles and responsibilities during emergency situations, ensuring they are well-prepared for any challenges that may arise.
Additionally, students had the opportunity to hear from Mr. Garza, our cooking club sponsor, and Mr. Rogers, who leads our Bible study group. Their insights provided valuable information about the extracurricular activities available at EHS.
Furthermore, Mrs. Salinas began meeting with potential graduates to review the courses needed for graduation. This vital review process will continue throughout next week, helping students stay on track for their upcoming milestones.
Finally, students had the opportunity to socialize with one another and play games.

Endeavor High School Soars with an "A Rating" from the Texas Education Agency!
We are thrilled to announce that Endeavor High School has achieved an impressive A rating from the Texas Education Agency, earning a remarkable score of 96! This represents a 4-point increase from last year, showcasing our continuous dedication to excellence in education.
This year, we are proud to stand alongside 115 alternative programs across Texas that have also earned an A rating. With a total of 253 alternative schools in the state, our achievement signifies our commitment to providing an outstanding educational experience for all of our students.
This marks the second consecutive year that Endeavor High School has received an A rating, and it reflects our consistent performance over the years. In fact, we have proudly earned an A rating four out of the last five years! This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, teachers, and staff.
We also want to express our heartfelt gratitude to our district administration and school board for their unwavering support. Their commitment to our mission has played a vital role in helping us reach this milestone.
As we celebrate this achievement, we extend our thanks to everyone who has contributed to our success—our teachers for their dedication, our staff for their support, and, most importantly, our students for their determination and passion for learning. Together, we are building a brighter future and setting the standard for excellence in education.
Let’s continue to strive for greatness as we embark on another exciting school year! Go Endeavor!
Planning for Success: Attendance and Family Vacations
Regular attendance is crucial for high school students, as it directly impacts their academic success and overall development. Every day in the classroom provides valuable opportunities for learning, collaboration, and engagement that are difficult to replicate outside of school. When students are present, they benefit from direct instruction, access to resources, and the chance to participate in discussions that deepen their understanding of the material.
To assist families in planning vacations without disrupting their child’s education, we’ve included a convenient student break planner below. This tool outlines important dates and breaks throughout the school year, making it easier for you to schedule family time while ensuring your student stays on track academically. By working together, we can support our students in achieving their fullest potential.

Student Parking
The following is needed for a student to drive to Endeavor:

- Proof of liability on your vehicle
- A parking permit issued from Endeavor
Students who drive to school without a license run the risk of receiving a citation from our campus Constable and will not be allowed to drive off of the campus with their vehicle. See Mrs. Barrientos in the front office for a permit.
Lunch Info
For the protection of our students, food deliveries and visitors who are not on a student's emergency contact list are not allowed during lunch. Along with students having an option for a free lunch, there are microwave ovens available in the cafeteria for students to use.
