Swartz Drop Off & Pick Up Swartz Drop Off & Pick Up

With the colder weather and snow piled up, drop off and pick up at Swartz can be more challenging. Please follow the guidelines below to keep drop off/pick up running smoothly.

  • Pull up as far as you can to allow multiple cars to unload at one time. Cones will be out for the last few parking spaces to help with this.
  • Stay in single line (no double rows).
  • Use Monterey to proceed to the line. Do not turn down Elder and turn around in a resident's driveway.
  • Drive the speed limit when driving on Monterey and any streets around the school.
  • Do not park on the east side of the building. This can be very dangerous, it blocks traffic and slows down the line.
  • Do not wait and watch your child enter the building. If you need to watch your child enter the building, please park on the west side of the building and walk your child to the front entrance. We have a supervisor on duty from 7:30-7:40 am.

Meet Mrs. Gallagher

Hello, my name is Sheri Gallagher and I was hired in 1988 to start the preschool program for Salt Creek School District 48. It started at Stella May Swartz School and then moved to Salt Creek School in the summer of 1991. I married my husband Brian Gallagher in 1989. I had my first child, Kayleen, in November 1993 and that's when I decided to stay home to raise our family. Our daughter Mary Clare was born in October 1996 and son Jimmy was born in December 2000. I returned to District 48 as a substitute teacher in 2009 and was then hired on as a teacher’s assistant in 2012. I have worked between Swartz and Salt Creek Schools but now I have been only at Swartz school. I look forward to going to work every day and I love my Salt Creek School District 48 Family!!!

Standard Response Protocol

Salt Creek District 48 has adopted a new emergency protocol response from the I Love U Guys Foundation. This is a program that has been adopted by many of the schools within DuPage County. Over the summer, the administrative team attended training on the protocol and is passing along the training to all staff. We also want to make families aware of the five different protocols so you can be familiar with the language you may hear your child or the school use.
