General Class News
What a Friday!
Students received black CEW sweatshirts today thanks to Rick Hendrick BMW. If your student was absent today, we picked up their sweatshirt. The sweatshirt sizes started at Youth Large and went up.
We also practiced our House chants and held a school-wide gathering for our House competitions. Congratulations to the BLUE HOUSE, REVEUR! for winning today!
Our school garden club is starting soon. This week we enjoyed some of the summer harvest--a pomegranate (one of about 5 from the tree) and a watermelon! Both fruits received mixed reviews from our students.
Next week we will explore how energy can turn into heat and answer the question "What is heat?" and challenge the students to remember one way energy is transferred to make heat.
As a reminder, the first meeting of the Special Education Parent Advisory Council is this Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 6 pm via Zoom. More information including the flyer is near the pictures from our week. I hope you can make it!
Have a good holiday weekend!
If you need anything or have any questions, please feel free to reach out to your student's teacher:

Our Unit--Rules and Laws Keep Us Safe
We will continue to read our Chapter book called Tournament Committee this week.
We have focused on the words: laws, safe, government, and rules. Next week we will talk about choose and community.
Our reoccurring theme is: Governments make laws.

A Message From Our Counselors - Suicide Prevention Month
September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, a dedicated time to highlight mental health awareness and champion the vital role we all play in supporting our youth. Suicide remains the second leading cause of death among young people aged 10 to 24*, and its impact touches families, classrooms, and entire communities. By standing together, we can break down stigmas, inspire hope, and connect every student to a caring adult and life-saving resources.
This site is here to help our students, families, and school staff find the resources, information, and support they need to promote mental wellness, strengthen connections, and know where to turn when someone is struggling.
