HOLY CHILDHOOD CATHOLIC SCHOOL

This guitar once belonged to long-time HCS teacher, Mrs. Mary Hirl, who started teaching here in the 1980’s until her death in 2006. At that time, the guitar was passed to our beloved computer and music teacher, Dr. Steve Gibson. Dr. G, as he was affectionately called, who retired in 2020.

Dr. G. recently reached out to Ms. Amann and Mrs. Smith for their help in getting the guitar into the hands of someone who would appreciate its history and as it so happened, Mrs. Renth was working as a substitute that day and added her ideas to the discussion. The guitar will be passed to HCS Class of 2009 graduate Rachel Bishop Randall who is a music therapist. Mrs. Randall was a student of both Mrs. Hirl and Dr. G and is honored and thrilled to carry on their legacy.

HCS LIBRARY NEWS- Planting seeds of daily reading now will flower into readers for life! As we close out the school year, keep up the good habits of reading and testing in AR through the summer!!

New window installation is coming this summer to HCS!

The plan is to begin working on the windows on June 22; with an ending date of July 31. The school will be open during installation but there will be specific summer work hours for our office staff. More information will be coming in the next few weeks about times.

branch of the military.

She loves office plants!!

Brielle Wheelan is tearing up the competition: Earlier this week, Brielle threw 83' in discus State qualifying total is 75'; previous school record was 64 feet!

4th Grader Emma Bolt is launching it as well. She now holds the Junior Shot Put record at 25' 7.5".

Great job to both girls!
