Your student may qualify for:
- Reduced cost home internet
- Reduced fees for athletics, clubs and activities
- Drivers' education scholarships
- Waived fees for college applications & exams
The application form is available online through SchoolCafe in English and Spanish or complete the form during a school open house.
United Way helps to meet supply demand
We know that school supplies are expensive. Our community members know that too and are helping to "stuff the bus." Soon it will be time to give those supplies away.
Thank you, United Way of Goodhue, Wabasha & Pierce Counties, for again holding a school supply event for students. We appreciate the many individuals, community organizations and businesses that make this day possible. Mark your calendar for 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, and we'll see you at the Elks!
Teacher assignments coming soon
Families with students entering kindergarten through grade 5 can expect classroom/teacher placement letters between Aug. 17 and open house. Please keep an eye on your mailbox.
Bus assignments coming via email
Red Wing Public Schools and MTN, our new transportation partner, are working on bus routes and will soon notify eligible families about specifics.

Red Wing Public Schools officially joins the Hiawatha Valley League this fall. The change comes at the same time that HVL moves its scheduling and registration system to the Bound platform. You'll find the Wingers' schedules and more at www.gobound.com/mn/schools/redwing.
The annual parent, athlete and coach meeting in preparation for the start of fall season will be at 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10, at the high school. The season will begin Aug. 17.
Flight Path 2030
AI Bootcamp open to Red Wing teens
The Mark Cuban Foundation, in partnership with Red Wing Public Schools, will host a no-cost Artificial Intelligence Bootcamp for high school students this fall.
The three-session bootcamp is being brought to the community through the Flight Path 2030 initiative, with funding provided by Dwight and Dian Diercks. Any student who will be at least 13 years old at the time the bootcamp begins is eligible to apply. Applicants do not need to be enrolled in Red Wing Public Schools to participate.
The bootcamp will run 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays, Oct. 31, Nov. 7, and Nov. 14. Meals, transportation assistance and technology will be provided at no cost. Students must plan to attend all three days.
The AI Bootcamp gives students hands-on experience with cutting-edge AI tools, including generative AI, and explores real-world applications in fields such as healthcare, arts, business, computer science, sports science, and career readiness. Students will also complete a capstone project under the guidance of industry mentors.
This opportunity advances Flight Path 2030, Red Wing Public Schools’ five-year initiative to prepare every student for a world shaped by artificial intelligence, computing, and data. Through Flight Path 2030, the district is expanding access to AI literacy, data fluency, computational thinking, advanced coursework, career-connected learning, and community partnerships.
The Mark Cuban Foundation’s Artificial Intelligence Bootcamp in Red Wing is made possible through a partnership between Red Wing Public Schools, Red Wing Ignite, and the Jones Family Foundation.
