December 13, 2023

Dear District 115 Students, Families, and Staff,

As we approach the holiday season and the much-anticipated Winter Break, I want to take a moment to extend my warmest wishes to you and your families. In the spirit of celebration, I would also like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the incredible students, educators, parent groups, and families that make LFHS truly special. Your commitment to education makes a profound impact, and we are fortunate to have such a wonderful school community.

I encourage everyone to take a moment to relax, rejuvenate, create memories with family and friends, and enjoy this well-deserved time off. Whether you are traveling to be with loved ones or enjoying the comfort of your home, I hope the holiday season fills your hearts with warmth and happiness.

We also encourage you to engage our Scouts in managing the stress of finals, college acceptance letters (especially this week for those awaiting the Early Decision deadline!), and the impact of an action-packed semester of courses and activities. Practicing gratitude, creating a winter break “bucket list” of fun activities (like these in the Chicago area), and connecting students with service opportunities are all wonderful ways to create space for self-care and rest.

As we say goodbye to 2023 and look forward to the possibilities of 2024, we are eager to continue to work together to create a supportive, safe, and nurturing environment for our Scouts. Your partnership is invaluable, and together we can achieve great things for the benefit of our entire school community.

Warmest regards,
